If BYU wins 8 of their last 9, and gets to the WCC championship game, they should still get an NCAA invite. This would mean a couple of unexpected wins.

If BYU wins 7 or less of their last 9 games, they'll probably need to win the WCC tourney to get invited.

There's a very good chance that BYU will play Gonzaga three times within a five week period - Provo, Spokane and Las Vegas (to determine who will play St Marys in the Championship Game). This is going to be a great rivalry.

Ditto what CougFaninTX says.

CougFaninTX - I think you are underestimating BYU's chances. If they win 7 of 9 games and go to the conference semis and lose to St. Marys or the Zags - they will get in. It all comes down to how many upsets there are in conference tournaments amongst the other bubble teams. If they stumble against anyone but St. Marys or Gonzaga though, it will be tough.

The game tomorrow is huge. An away win in ACC country will wipe out the LMU game.

Typically, the WCC normally gets 1-2 teams in the tournament. There was one year the WCC had three bids. That was an exception because an unexpected San Diego locked up the auto bid in the WCC tournament.

I don't expect the WCC to get three teams in this year based on confrence RPI rankings. The 11th best confrence doesn't usually doesn't deserve two at large bids. The WCC this year will probaly get two (St. Mary - at large, Gonzaga - auto bid). There's a very small margin for error in the WCC. If St. Mary's slips up and loses just two or three games in a row it will quickly fall out of contention for an at-large, which is evident in BYU losing to a weak LMU team. BYU may have 17 wins but they did lose big games St. Mary's, USU and Baylor. The bids out west should look like this:

MWC - UNLV, SDSU, New Mexico, and CSU and or Wyoming (big maybe for Wyoming. Both CSU or Wyoming might have to win the MWC tournamnent)

PAC-12 - Cal, Stanford and possibly Arizona and or Oregon? (big if on the 3rd bid)

WCC - Gonzaga, St. Mary's

How would Lundardi know? Those are his brackets, not those of the selection committee. Besides, the season is far from over.

Or maybe we could wait until the season is over and all the games have been played and actually see what really happens.

It never ceases to amaze me that sportswriters get paid for guessing what might happen. It would be great to see them get paid based on how accurate their predictions are.

Johnson72:
At least BYU has a chance. How about U?
Maybe in a few years U can start dreaming about being as good as BYU is this year.

The dream at BYU is a whole lot better than the nightmare at the u.

Cheer up. It could be worse. Your football team could be in a weak conference. Oh, wait.......

Where is Utah on the list?

While BYU fans still have dreams, all U have are nightmares.

Just remember that before they lost to Loyola, BYU was in this list for a few weeks. All it will take is one win over St. Mary's or Gonzaga, which will happen, and they are right back on his list.

It's fun to dream of future than can happen, isn't it Johnson?

Johnson:

I'd rather be making it onto the first four out list halfway through the season, then coming off the first four win list. Way to get #5 20 games into the season.

PAC man:

Not only are U fans living a nightmare it's reoccurring.

Cal is the only PAC 12 team that is anywhere close to being a sure thing for an at-large bid. Stanford and Arizona aren't even close.
