Certain posters like to belittle a rival. In this case the U finally won a game over big, bad ASU. For this type of poster, it's like a little brother who finally beats up the bully who takes his lunch money every day and he has to tell big brother all about it. After all, it has been awhile since he has had something positive to share. He tries to compare his achievements with the older and wiser brother. Yes it can be annoying but isn't it nice that little brother has a place to share.

Your just suffering from little brother syndrome. But go ahead and keep telling yourself BYU is the older brother! Facts say otherwise!

Which school is older BYU or Utah? or I should say, which school was established first?

Utah 1850 (Oldest school in the Pac-12 by the way)
BYU 1875

The University of Utah is "Older" than BYU, making Utah the older brother to BYU. Live with it! Only "Age" determines who is "Older"!

Keep Bleeding mr. Blue...

Then your posts will cease and few will care due to irrevance. Go post on your board about playing in nowhere towns in high school gyms, against walk on players.

But most of all keep bleeding for us all!

The Cougars need to be more effective in beginning games or they will get beat on the road (and at home, as in the case of LMU).

Defensively, the Cougars let an inside player go off for a "career" night against the worst team in the conference.

I love the Cougars, but I am not happy!

Nice try.

You may be the "older" brother to some of the teams in the WCC. I'm sure you can do some research and let us know.

However, you are the "little" brother when you compare yourself to the Utes.

Keep up the good work little brother. Were proud of you!

I'm starting to seriously doubt that the WCC is a 3 bid league. BYU better take care of business on the road at Va Tech in order to help the committee forget the LMU loss. Also, anything less than 2-1 vs. St. Mary's and the Zags will doom the Cougs. Although there is always the WCC tournament. A loss to anyone but St. Marys or Gonzaga there will put BYU in the NIT. Which isn't so bad considering their youth and inexperience this year.

All those young guards should be taking Noah Hartsock out to dinner every night to thank him for this season. The guy carries the team more often than not.

Pac 12 co-leader Oregon was beat by 14 points by BYU @ the ESA in Salt Lake. Who is the better conference and has relevance? The Pac 12 will have better years, but that is a very bad league this year. In fact it may only get one team in this year.

"playing in nowhere towns"

Malibu is a nowhere town? Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and San Diego are nowhere towns?

And this coming from someone who is from Franklin, Indiana; population 23,000? I had to look up Franklin, because it is truly a nowhere town.

There's some legitimacy to your comment about the size of gyms, but the markets BYU is playing in are bigger and better than what the MWC or PAC have to offer. And the size of the gyms doesn't matter to me, because I wouldn't be at the game anyway. It doesn't matter to me if the gym seats 5,000 or 15,000. I only care that almost every game is being broadcast nationally and internationally and I can sit in my comfy chair and watch them all.

Great time to be a Cougar fan.

EVERY game in crystal clear HD via BYUTV.

Good to see the team bounce back and win the game. This next week will determine a lot in the WCC.

The future is bright!

i don,t know why all you people on this thread keep on about the size of the gym where byu plays anyway, the playing floor is exactly the same size as the HC or MC or any other college gym.The size of the gym does not mean that they don,t have a good team, on any given night a college team can beat any other college team, the size of the gym means absolutely nothing.

age might determine who is older, but size can and usually does determine who is bigger, i am bigger than my older brotheres, so if bigger is referenced it could mean that byu is bigger because they are more populous student body wise , it all depends on how you look at things, but as far as Utah being older yes that is a fact they were founded first ,but they were both were founded by the same person therefore they are brothers.

If I recall correctly, Brigham Young opened the first university in Utah, the University of Deseret which eventually became the University of Utah. In a manner of speaking, both schools could be called "Brigham Young" universities.

Someone may correct mer if I am mistaken.

CougfaninTX - Would you rather be in the WCC/Indy or the Pac12 -- all sports? Honest question.

Hiding behind the "Im a fan of both teams" label is getting a little old. As a "BYU fan" maybe you can start by answering your own question.

Still the silly gym comments coming from the utesies.

So tell us how that factors in to the committee's decision on which teams to seed in the tournament. I'll wait for your witty and factual answers. Don't ever remember hearing Gumble say "Well St. Mary's would have been a lock to get that 5th seed if only they had a bigger gym!" So IRRELEVANT, since you utesies love to throw that word around every other comment.

agb,

OK, will do. I would much rather BYU be in the Pac12. They should have gotten an invite when Utah did. They were shut out due to factors not related to the competitiveness of the athletics program in general.

Just to be clear - I am a Utah fan. However, I enjoy BYU sports as well. I like to see LDS athletes play and do well at any level and so I see no point in "hating" on BYU. In fact, I see no point in BYU fans (as representatives of the LDS Church) hating on Utah athletics as well. I don't mind some good natured ribbing, that is fun - but the "rivalry" in general exposes some very bad characteristics in both sides.
