How low can you go? Ask the people who stole the statue. Whether it be from a cemetery, autistic center, blind center, park etc. it does not matter. Wrong is wrong. I truly believe that some of the recycle places are not being honest when taking recycled metals from people. I know that they say they do but not all of them, I believe are being honest. Hey, if they don't take metals from someone then they lose also. This needs to be stopped and it needs to be hit from all sides. This is beyond disgusting.
The only way to stop things like this is to fix our economy. Put people back to work and get the prices of metals down. Copper is going around 3.20 because of all this economy mess. That's why people steal these things. There have been reports of people melting down old pennies because the copper in them is worth far more than the 1 cent face value.
If we don't fix the economy don't expect things to get any better.
Sorry DeltaFoxtrot, I don't buy your excuses for this crime. They obviously had enough money for equipment to cut off the statue. They obviously had enough money for a truck to haul it away. People steal things because they lack moral integrity. If the economy were good, they would just steal better things.
