I don't know if he should resign as mayor. But I am sure that he should never drive a vehicle again. It's not his first DUI, let's not wait until he kills someone before taking his drivers license away from him.
Yet another 'Good Old Boys' network alive and well in Helper. Hope no one gets killed because they refuse to hold this guy accountable for his actions. It doesn't seem like they are too concerned with safety issues.
We need to start holding our leadership in Utah ACCOUTNABLE. To PREVENT abuses of power.
My examples are:

'SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah's House majority leader resigned from the Legislature Saturday, two days after acknowledging he paid a woman $150,000 to keep quiet about a nude hot-tubbing incident that took place a quarter century ago when she was a teenager. (sic)
House Speaker David Clark accepted Garn's resignation Saturday afternoon and offered an explanation about why the House applauded Garn's confession Thursday night.'

Wow, a DUI arrest is a "bump in the road"??
What would it be if he caused an accident and killed someone while DUI...a "big boo-boo"???
I agree with Christy72...don't care about his political career, just get him off the streets.
Drunk drivers are habitual offenders. If they've done it once they'll do it again and again. Why America doesn't take drunk driving seriously I'll never know. There should be mandatory jail time associated with each DUI conviction.
So how many arrest with a DUI does this guy need? Sounds like he's having a problem making good decisions for himself, I wouldn't appreciate him making decisions on behalf of a city or county.
I wonder how many times an officer let him go or swept his drunkeness under the rug.
There should be automatic rules for our governing officials. When you commit a crime that is harmful to the community, then you're automatically released from your position. Make it any crime. Let's hold them to a higher standard.
If it is something in their past that wasn't taken care of, such as the hot tub incident, then they would be kicked out. If they had a DUI before they were in office, then it should be public record. If they repeat while in office they lose their government power and pensions etc.
That should be motivation to stay out of grey areas.
I wonder what the liability for the city is if this guy kills someone while driving drunk and on city business? Unless he either stops driving or is taking very proactive measures to get help, he ought to be out of there.
