If Utah had done their job checking this Doctor, she never would have been allowed to practice medicine here or in any other state with a Utah license.

A Courts Martial resulting in a Dishonorable Discharge is a major felony conviction.

How many other doctors in Utah have major felony convictions prior to getting a medical license? That is a subject worthy of some serious investigative reporting!

Something is seriously wrong with our licensing process if this doctor ever got permission to practice in Utah, or with a Utah license.

And, what bureaucrat thinks writing an essay will correct, let alone prevent felonious behavior?

Leaving aside any judgement on abortion, a woman is dead and that could have been prevented.

36 week fetus. capable of living outside the womb. NOTHING to do with a woman's choice, but all about these so-called 'doctors" making a quick buck.

Sad, very sad, that this woman is somehow allowed to practice "medicine" with such an apparent disregard for life. Her license should immediately be suspended pending a full investigation.

Rufio, Read the article. Her license is suspended and she has been under investigation for 16 months. RTT.

36 WEEKS!!!! My Bro-in-law came out in 22 weeks. 36 weeks, that is a full term baby by my estimation. They killed children in a planned and calculating fashion. Innocent and without any ability to defend themselves.

Give them life without the possibility of parole in the general population of the prison.

I agree that the Utah licensing board needs to update their procedures and do full investigations on any doctor applying for licensing in this state. The good old boys club cannot protect the patients of such people. Please relook your procedures for licensing.

@DN Subscriber, apparently Maryland, Wyoming & other states she practiced in also failed to uncover her criminal past & issued licenses to practice medicine. I wouldn't criticize & state things when you don't know the details. I trust our state board in Utah, however, an essay is an interesting way to discipline.

It just amazes me that a person with a felony conviction can get a license to pratice medince and take lifes through abortion. I hope once this case goes to trial that this person is given the max sentence possible and is keep in jail where she can do no harm to people. I also under the understanding that doctor are to save lifes and not take lifes.

"trouble with the law?" Ha! What kind of a person would participate in a proceedure like this? Its a bloodlust of innocent life.

How did she ever get a license to practice medicine anywhere in the USA?

re:ER in Euro and Lost in DC

Not defending these people. Just pointing out that not all babies are viable at 36 weeks or at birth. No doubt determining the viability of the babies will be part of the investigation. Wonder who the mothers of the babies are? Will they be charged as well?

Sickening.

This case shows that there are serious problems in the programs and processes that provide Doctors in Utah.

Further research in public records reveals much more about this person's background and it is truly frightening. Beyond the dishonorable discharge (the absolute worst level possible).

She graduated from the University of Utah Medical School in 2002. The U of U needs to explain why, when Medical School seats are in such short supply, this woman with a felony conviction and one year at Leavenworth was selected instead of other qualified applicants. (I think I know why, but would like their explanation!)

Also, she just barely passed the tests for qualification, even after three attempts. Yet, last year was selected as the Medical Director of a local Alzheimer's center. This latter job based on her "strong background in geriatrics" when there is no indication that she ever had any significant experience in that field.

Checking patient comments available on line she is ranked well below average, including many extremely negative comments.

I have the utmost respect for Doctors, but this case scares me silly. Medical schools and state agencies are NOT protecting the public!

Awe's outragged just holding it in.

Who did she practice meds on in Utah, surely not the Bumble Bees.

I get my post toasted when I ID a mug shot to a cleb, co I won't tell you who she looks like although you all know.

Jail for Life is about all you can do and leave the rest up to God.
