If they've been married for any length of time, you'd think his wife would have known about his problem. If that is the case, she should also be prosecuted for negligence. I'm of the belief that since people such as this individual, tend to seek these types of professions so they can victimize these innocent children, that there ought to be a thorough and extensive background investigation of anyone applying for a childcare license; including all family members of the applicant.

As a mother of girls, this is one of the greatest fears I have. When in search of child care, I tend to steer clear of a child care with a man present. I hate to be this way, however, this is a prime example of the problems in today's world. I was just promoted and moving to this area. I do believe I answered an ad this child care placed and am very grateful I was not here before this time for my 3 yr old girl to be a victim. My heart goes out to those who were victims. See, had my 3 yr old told me of this, I probably would have been the one locked up because I would have hurt that man. As for the lady knowing what was going on as stated in the first comment, I can't say that Keith is right. Men are secretive and the women may not always be aware of things like this. Like cheaters, right? They are eventually found out, but in the early stages, without witnesses, it is hard to prove. Fortunately these little ones spoke out!

But the wife was not the one abusing the children.

I will conceded if there is any evidence of knowledge, accessory charges would be appropriate.

But my main point is the MAN, did the crime. HE was the main perpetuator and HE is the one responsible for these crimes.

The wife should not be guilty simply by association.

On a side note: How many children are going to be sexually abused...

before we call the police?

My 2 children did attend this daycare. I had to find out about this a WEEK after it occurred. I was still taking my kids there until I saw the local paper. Also, I've contacted the police and investigators 5 times, no responses, ZIP! Lehi PD has failed my children.

You can't undo what's already been done but you can prevent it from happening again. If convicted the suspect should be sentenced to 50 years in prison or until death .... whichever comes first.

@ Chelsea13--I am so sorry that you had to hear the way you did. I begged for the other parents to know about this as soon as possible. Unfortunately since Alfredo was in jail..according to the law, there is not technically a risk at the daycare. This is why they are still able to operate a babysitting company at their residence. Apparently the search warrent didn't supply the police with the binder that Mabel had all of the customers name and numbers in. I do know that there have been MANY little girls being interviewed. And I also know that the detective's messages have been so overwhelmingly huge with parents calling. Can you tell me what number you have been leaving messages at? I will try to connect you to the right person. My heart aches everytime I read a new message from an effected family. Please don't give up in getting your girls in touch with a detective and social worker. I hate that we all have to go thru this. But keep trying for the sake of your little ones.

@Chelsea13 and any other concerned parent:

I believe the main detective on the case is out of the office this week. In his absence, please contact Bart Smith at the Lehi PD. It could be that your messages are being routed into the mailbox of the detective that is not in the office. Hope that helps!
