More corruption at the top. The Mayor should NOT be the one holding the purse strings.
Government 101: The Mayor (Executive Branch) does hold the purse strings subject to budget approval by the County Council (Legislative Branch). The Auditor's function is to perform audits to determine whether council-approved and Mayor-administered funds are being used appropriately.
