The great white hype, er I'm mean hope.

Bohey: I didn't realize that Rick Reilly was "white". Thanks for clarifying that for me.

While I give props to Reiley for owning up, I think the article could have waited a few weeks. While Jimmer has been impressive, it's two preseason games against the lowly Warriors. Here's hoping to a great season by the Jimmer!

Vet: You're welcome. Your post leaves me with the impression that there are lots of things you don't realize.

Would love to see Reilly "wax the Marriott Center floor".

Jimmer said he likes the "space" in the NBA: "And if I get double-teamed, the guy I pass it to is an NBA player. He can hit shots."

Ouch! That's gotta' hurt Fredette's buddies at BYU!

I guess it's long past time to admit that I was right about Jimmer. So...I was right.

I wish the Jazz had drafted him.

In two games. Jimmer (10th pick) has scored 33 points. Kanter will score his 33rd (3rd pick) point sometime in mid-February.

Ute trolls can go back to cheering for the train wreck on the hill. Nothing to see here.

Great how Jimmer handles the hype and basketball.

Go ahead Chris B, join Rick Reilly to eat CROW!!!

So when and how is Reilly going to pay his $5K? It makes Mitt Romney's $10K bet look ever so much more reasonable.

Hmmmmmmm....where is Chris B?

There's a lot of things Reilly's wrong about. same for Chris B, Bohey and a whole lot of other Ute trolls. Face it, Jimmer's got "it". Read the Sacramento papers, he is already very highly thought of - as player and as person.

Love Jimmer. Absolute stud.

Where's the news? Since when has Reilly been right about anything?

Jimmer's game will translate nicely to the NBA!

Ute fan who just can't let it go. Needs to realize Jimmer mania is taking over the world.

By the way how is that project coming a long up on the hill? lol

The ESPN article from Reilly is actually a very nice and complimentary piece on Fredette. He ate crow quite magnanimously. You have to copy and paste the link to your browser window and add an h at the beginning, because DN left out the h in "http" at the front of the link and it takes you to a blank page.

Best of all life has to offer the Jimmer!

Collin Cowherd once said you can never get better once you've had "mania" attached to your name.

I was hoping we could just cheer for Jimmer's success without the over-the-top, hero worshiping, man crush, overblown hype that comes with it. It's like Beiber mania. The less I hear of it, the more I can appreciate the talent that's there.

And Jimmer definately has talent.

But the hype? Oh man. It is Tebow-esque. Let's hope it's not Ricky Martin-esque.

Good luck Jimmer.

if you go to ESPN article there is a cool photo of Rick Reilly writing the check as the Jimmer watches
