Much better tonight! HOWEVER, the reserves need a lot of improvement when under pressure. They almost gave it away.

I hope the ref apologizes to Evans for taking away the dunk of the year! That was INCREDIBLE!

hey somebody needs too tell frontrunner's Johnson72 and Snailblazer that portland didn't win the preseason championship. How embarrasing to play all your best players in hopes of a win; and come up short against Utah's young third stringer's.They(portland) still couldn't win with utah's nine turnovers in the fourth; at least set your best players down and don't advertise "you're trying too win the game". OUCH!

Serious question, Aae Jazz writers, fans, and front office still up-tight about Wesley Matthews? It sure seems that way.

Congrats Utah on a better "game" and actually deciding to show up.

Here is my final western conference predictions and playoffs now that the pre-season is pretty much over:
1. OKC Thunder
2. Dallas Mavericks
3. San Antonio Spurs
4. Los Angeles Clippers
5. Los Angeles Lakers
6. Memphis Grizzlies
7. Portland Trail Blazers
8. Denver Nuggets
------
9. Phoenix Suns
10. Minnesota Timberwolves (I think they're going to surprise a lot of people; they are young which will help them, and they have Love as well)
11. Houston Rockets
12. New Orleans Hornets
13. Utah Jazz
14. Sacramento Kings
15. Golden State Warriors

So the Jazz pulled all of their starters halfway through the third and gave their young players late game experience while Portland played their starters the whole game and on to the very last second. The Jazz still won and yet you seem to think Portland still going to make the playoffs.

I guess it's possible... ... if everyone else only plays their second and third stringers.

yep Portland will make the playoffs and Utah will not. Thats right cowgirl99

I thought we watched some interesting combinations out there tonight. At times they clicked pretty good. I thought the offense flowed pretty good when Tinsley was running the point. Earl Watson seems to distribute the ball as well.

Blazers

Yep, Blazers will make the playoffs and then be a 1st round exit, which is their destiny for the next decade.

All I have to say is LOL.

Jazz have top caliber young guys and will get 2 more this year from this stacked draft. Then in about 3 years, we are actual title contenders.

Not perennial first round exits like you guys.

Thanks for the entertainment after every Jazz game and for letting us rub in how mediocre your team is and always will be :).

I'll take the lottery this year to get us more top caliber guys and get to actual contender status in a few years over Blazer mediocrity any day.

I guess you are content with that, so enjoy :).

Who is going to distribute the ball? Tinsley had 3 assists in 13 minutes while Harris had only one assist in 25 minutes? Need a pont guard.

I think the Jazz need to ditch Harris and Bell they are not good enough to be on the starting line up. They need to earn there place on the roster. Bell is a great leader but a horrible player. With all the Talent the Jazz has up and coming you think they would let Bell go. Okur is fine cause we need the three point threat. Tinsley and Earl can handle the Point just fine.

Are Portland fans and front office still uptight over drafting Sam Bowie and Greg Oden? It sure seems that way. Congratulation on finishing the pre-season 1-1. We all know how badly Portland wanted to win this game and finish undefeated.

Funny stuff here tonight...For one thing Harris is better than Tinsley and Earl and we need games like 10 points from him. He started well. Sure more assists will be needed and keep the turnovers down, but he looked to pass more in my opinion. Earl is excellent but LIMITED MINUTES. He wore down in the 2nd half of last season when DWIL was dealt. Evans? We know about the incredible dunk, he needs to develop a jumper. Expect little time from him again as Josh Howard is here. Hope Jeremy really develops. Favors was still a threat around the basket offense and D. CJ had a controlled game. AJ bounced back. More energy. They gave up still open 3s but it was better. The rotations were better. Still we cannot allow guys like Wes to get off, and hurt us with the Corner 3s. Everything was fine. The last few minutes almost ruined it. Trap leading to Turnovers and Portland almost came back. Although, Harris in Regular Season would have been in at the end. Tinsley had problems handling the rock there. Also Howard did not close on Wes last 3.

Still better and we won!

I think the charge call on Evans was legit which makes the dunk even more incredible. Ranks among the best dunks I've ever seen.

The fact that you put Minnesota at 9 takes away all your credibility. They have like 15 point guards on that roster. Give me a break.

By the way everyone, that was NOT a charge on Jeremy Evans. Gerald Wallace will be hanging on somebody's wall on the receiving end of a monstrous dunk. The poster will be autographed by Jeremy Evans. That was sick!

I liked what I saw. Some observations... 1)Raja Bell can be a valuable part of the team but not so much on the floor. I hope he can be a good leader and mentor to our young guys and fill in when they struggle but his minutes should be very limited. 2) I hope Paul Milsap will accept coming off the bench and being our go to guy with that unit especially in the fourth quarter. It is obvious that Favors needs to play and Jefferson and Milsap playing together for extended minutes makes us too week defensively. 3) I hope Corbin demands defense from Jefferson, Okur and Kanter @ center and gives the playing time to those who do. 4) I think we are solid at point with Harris/Watson/Tinsley. 5) I like a Jefferson/Favors/Howard/Hayward/Harris to start Kanter/Milsap/Miles/Burks/Watson next With Evans/Okur/Tinsley/Bell to fill in when the others struggle and in back to back games

I thought Jamaal Tinsley looked good last night. He runs the offense and is a good passer. I am glad he is on the roster for some insurance. I don't think he should see a lot of time, but if Harris gets hurt, or Watson, it will be nice to have him there. Josh Howard also showed some glimpses of his past. Jeremy Evans is getting better too.

Bell should take the place of Hornacek and become a coach. Neither of them is functioning in their current role.

I am not sure that Corbin giving Bell minutes will rejuvenate his career or his moves or shot that are missing from his game.

The young guys should get better as they get used to playing together and as they get more time in actual NBA situations.

Yeah Portland will make the playoffs, and exit in the first round like always.
