Welcome to Utah!

South Weber, UT

For all of you naysayers telling the Utes will have problems recruiting here with Coach Chow gone here is the notes on a recent commit signed 5 hours ago..

" Kevin York held offers from USC, Miami, Mississippi, and BYU. He stands 5'11" and weighs 225 pounds. York is a bigger back, and does a nice job of keeping his legs churning. York appears to run in a zone and man scheme for Fullerton. That should help him in the Pac 12. His speed is decent for a back of his size..
There aren't a lot of great big backs in the PAC 12, and York could be a good one for the Utes."

WOW! While "verbals" don't amount to much of anything to me until the recruit actually signs his LOI in about 6 or 7 wks, if we DO get this kid, this will be HUGE for Utah! York is 5-11, 225 lbs, runs a 4.4 forty, is rated as a 4-star RB by Rivals, and the #2 JUCO player at his position. This guy is built like Dameon Hunter, only faster, and comes more highly touted. GO UTES!!!

Naval Vet-

York signed TODAY! Today was signing day for Juco Transfers. This is another early Christmas present for the Utes.

Welcome to Utah Kelvin! I can't wait to see you and John White doing your Thunder and Lightning performance. It's going to be awesome!

Good get for the utes. We will need more than 1 rb. By the way in the pac-12 the pro style offense doesn't score enough points to win. That said u all are going to say but what about Usc or Stanford. Well they could both run the spread and win. We are not going to get thoes types of kids. Personaly I'm not sad to see Chow go. Are offense stunk this year.

with York and White working together, next year could be very good for the Utes. Now we just need to teach our quarterbacks to take advantage of these two.

Great pick up by the Utes!! Can't wait to see him play next year and run wild.

"Personally I'm not sad to see Chow go. Our offense stunk this year."

Did you actually watch the games this year or just look at the box scores on Sunday morning?
With the challenges this Ute team faced this year we'd have probably won 3 or 4 games without Chow. His play calling and coaching of Jon Hays was absolutely critical and possibly one of the best coaching jobs in Ute history being what they were faced with.
Without Chow we could have lost all Pac 12 credibility in year 1. Instead, we proved we belong.

If his miniscus holds up, this could be a very good recruit. Perhaps this means that Langi will redshirt, which would be a good idea.

Langi is going to be turned into a LB-speed and size

Should be a great 3rd down and short yardage back. I think that's the best situation for him to minimize the wear and tear on such a chronic problem like a meniscus, and with what I've seen of his strength, would suit him very well as about a 10 carry/game change of pace kind of guy.

Portland your prediction is completely unfounded and unlikely.

I'm liking the class we're putting together and considering we still have about 5 more four and five star guys that have us on their top five list, could potentially be a great one!

Its great to be a Ute! The Utes have a bright and exciting future!

I can't imagine playing a season without any purpose. PAC 12 Rocks!

Go Utes!

Motorbike- I couldn't agree more. Chow was a wizard the way he turned lemons into lemonade this year. I am very sad to see him go so soon.

Tempe, AZ

Excited about this guy! I was relieved to see a recruit commit even though Chow's resignation had already happened.

Sounds like this guy has a great combination of size and speed. If this guy is as good as he sounds, the Utes will have a great 1, 2 punch.

Also, I'm failing to see a DN report of it anywhere, but in other local JUCO signings, former Dixie High linebacker Cade Cowdin, who was a freshman my senior year at DHS, has just signed to play with Oregon State. Beavers got a good dude, and hopefully this doesn't end up being a recruiting oversight by the Utes like Cort Dennison turned out to be. Congrats and good luck to Cade!

Portland Beavers

It's not a prediction

Well then you're misinformed, Portland.

With how pathetic the utes offense is, #110 in the nation, you would be excited if they signed bieber as an RB.

@ jacker-ras

Good one.

and yet it was still 54-10, and the boys in blue quit.

Layton, Utah

3 blowouts and 17-14

Where will the mighty utes be ranked come seasons end?

That "one" game doesn't seem to affect the voters for the Y though. They will be ranked in the top 25 with a bowl win. haha.
