I live in Davis County. Its OK to give a pat on the back, but let's not put ourselves on a pedestal here. People are the same everywhere. They help each other after natural "disasters". I don't think we are different/better than anyone else is. It was good seeing all the help going on though. And good that the weather cooperated for the clean-up efforts.

Though Davis County deserves credit for the volunteering, I must say that San Diego California tops everyone when it comes to community volunteerism and donations. I maintain homes in both Bountiful and San Diego. Following the 2007 fires, I witnessed millions of dollars from private sources being donated to families in need. The lines leading up to donation centers collecting food and other staples were miles long throughout the county...Volunteers wanting to donate their time to help others with clean-up efforts had to be turned away because too many people volunteered to serve their community in need. San Diego is an unbelievably generous community!

It wasn't just Kaysville, either, that participated in the volunteer clean-up. I know Bountiful, Centerville and Kaysvillle are featured in the news while Farmington just quietly goes about accomplishing the same result.

Has Kaysville restored power to all of their residents by now? I know there were still some in the dark on Sunday, which is a fairly long wait, isn't it?

There are many good people everywhere. It is okay to praise Utah. That is not putting other states down. I didn't know about all the help given in San Diego. Love people helping others. We all can lighten each others load. This week I decided to just smile at others more. Funny thing is I am getting lots of smiles back. Good feeling.
