I really like the Christmas lights but it is usually marred for me by the extreme cold that must be endured whilst looking at the display.
Since the belief is that Christmas actually took place at about the same time of year as Easter, I wish the lights could be displayed in Spring - but then it would be later before it was dark enough to turn on the juice. It would also confuse children who tend to think in terms of Santa Claus and bunnies in their more worldly enculturations. Maybe keep Santa in December and Christ at Easter time. The bunnies can work it out for themselves.
Thank you for the joy the lights bring. The cold, crisp weather usually enhances the experience for me because it's a realization of the beauty that God sends after the lights, whether in the heavens or from Temple Square's beauty. The lights would take a back seat to be displayed when the wonders of nature are busy coming forth. Merry Christmas to all!!
I love the lights a Temple Square because they remind me of Disneyland!
