pocyUte,I think you're spot on. Stanford will get an at-large bid
so long as it wins out, especially if Oregon wins out and makes it to the Rose
(or title game - could happen but unlikely). Where things get dicey is if
Stanford or Oregon lose.
CougFaninTx,Stanford is going to a BCS game as an at large so you
have to bump all your teams up one bowl. That puts the Utes in the Sun Bowl,
but you're right the Las Vegas Bowl has more to offer outside the game for the
players and fans.
Cowboy dudethe predictions I've seen have Stanford and Oregon
getting BCS bids with Oregon to the Rose and Stanford to the Fiesta. I don't
think it will take Oregon to the BCS champ game for the Pac to get 2 BCS bids,
especially with BSU losing.
If Utah wins out and if the PAC-12 gets two teams to BCS bowls, meaning OR in
the BCS Championship, than Utah will get Holiday. Double ifs but still fun to
speculate.I predicted at beginning of the season, Utah in the Sun
Bowl with North Carolina, still possible.Heck, Rose Bowl is still
possible with lots and lots of ifs.
This is great fun to be speculating about which bowl game we will end up in and
this is the 9th straight year we've been privileged to have this fun. This is
whay makes late season college football fun to follow. The only way it could
get better is if we were speculating about playoff seeding and home field
The PACs worst bowl, is Independence best! The Band of Little
I want to avoid the Vegas Bowl. If we win out, Sun is the most likely and
Holiday is a possibility. Very exciting matchups possible in both. But first things first, beat beat Wazzu!
CougfanI understand your sentiment about El Paso, but I'd rather get
the Sun bowl as it has a higher payout, and a better bowl. I can't go to either
one anyway. Poor me.
I don't think I could handle Utah V Texas.... haha
Yeah, Darth, you're right. BYU, the superior team, lost to lowly Utah by 44.I look forward to hearing more of your insights.
I'll add my prediction to the other experts. Utah vs TCU in Vegas. Hey, it's
better than what I was predicting last week. I didn't think the Utes would get
past UCLA, and would end up 6-6 playing Wyoming in the New Mexico Bowl.If I'm a player, I'd much rather go to Vegas than El Paso (Sun Bowl). El Paso
is worse than Albuquerque. Sure the cash register is bigger in El Paso, but the
Sun Bowl offers nothing else. Watch Border Wars for a close up look at El
Paso.Rose - OregonAlamo - StanfordHoliday -

I would love to see a Utah-GATech Sun Bowl---a chance for the Utes to repeat the
Emerald (Kraft Hunger, these days) bowl of 2005 when LaTandresse scored 4 TDs
and Calvin "Megatron" Johnson scored 0. GATech is a good team and
provides an interesting match-up for the Utes. I would not like to
see another Ute Vegas Bowl with TCU or Boise State as those teams are simply
much better than the Utes and I like the bowl games to be good match-ups.Texas at Holiday Bowl would be nice.In the end, it's going
to come down to the next two weeks. IF Utah can win out (college games are
rarely a given and WSU could pose some problems on the road), then I would see
them in at least the Sun. Washington is likely to win out and finish
8-4-->Holiday Bowl.Cal and ASU can't both finish 8-4 since they
play each other, but one still could. My hope is Cal beats ASU, but
loses to Stanford. If that scenario, I predict ASU beats Zona and finishes 7-5;
Cal 7-5, UCLA 7-5 and UCLA to PAC Championship.Crazy.
If we can find a way to beat Oregon the Rose is still possibleNeed a
reminder of the Sugar Bowl to know Whit's ability to pull of major upsets?
Arizona State is putting this one in our hands.
But they are better than Utah. They just beat themselves.
A Utah-Texas clash in San Diego would give the Utes the chance to prove they're
better than the team down south. Oh wait. They've done that twice already...
once directly, and once by common opponent Oregon State.
