Thank you for your service, Mr. Harrison! I salute you.

For civilians, not familiar with the significance of military awards, Mr. Harrison's service is especially outstanding to have been recognized with the Silver Star, which is a high award for heroism in combat. The Distinguished Service Cross is another very high award. Unlike Vietnam, where many awards were "given away in candy boxes" these WW2 awards were truly earned the hard way by real heroes.

Mr. Harrison and his comrades in arms have kept us free and we should all be thankful for his service, even if it has taken far too long for formal recognition to arrive.
