"Matheson has not ruled out running for re-election in his district but is also considering a bid for the state's new 4th District seat"

Don't you have to RESIDE in the district you want to represent? how can he be chosing between the 2nd & 4th districts? I guess he'd have to move.

No, just in the state. Rep Chaffetz lives outside the (current) 3rd district. Although, I believe Matheson has said he would move into the 4th district if elected.

John,

thanks.

I'll take your word for it, though it does seem odd.

but then I do remember there being some stink about Chaffetz living just outside his district's boundary.

I listened to Chris Stewart Interviewed at length on KCPW radio, and I was not impressed at all. He has pedestrian reflexive Republican values and spews nonsense about having expertise in economics, especially when he started to compare the US deficit rate being parallel with country of Greece and that this represented some kind of catastrophic need to slash any sort of domestic spending, taxes, etc. [fill in common radical Republican misconceptions here]. Fact is public debt as a percentage of GDP in Greece is 127% compared to 67% in the US, so he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. And besides, the US economy is so robust that when and if we are prepared to give it a significant stimulus the US economy can churn out massive expansion and repay public debt very quickly as we did we Bill Clinton was president and balanced the budget.

Being an profit-motivated opportunist is no qualification for making coherent public policy. Mr. Stewart's made a ton of money cashing in on the "war on terror", but he should rethink his mission to become a member of the US Congress, he doesn't have the Right Stuff.
