Ceding local news coverage to the Tribune has been a costly mistake for the News. The News has lost its reputation and its best writers in a very short time. Morale is low. During the forum yesterday it was clear that a an inexperienced CEO pushing an aggressive values stance can't compete with a savvy, professional journalist. An experienced editor like Ms. Conway could help restore journalistic integrity to the News.
