Congratulations to Alex! It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
I hope Chris Hill doesn't end up regreting not getting Alex here someday.
I wonder how secure Whit's job will be after a few years of mediocrity. Had the U stayed in the mwc he'd have been there for life, now those prospects are probably gone.
skippy: How was it Chris Hill's job to get Alex here? He's not ready to be a D-1 coach, he was offered an assistant job by Coach K.
JT: There isn't a person alive, outside of Utah County, who doesn't believe the PAC is a much better job than the MWC. I don't get the take the 'easy way' mentality. Who would want to stay in the irrelevant MWC when you can get to the Rose Bowl in the PAC?
Larry,
Hire Alex sooner than later. The locals love him and he was probably the best defender on any of Majerus' teams. That says a lot.
Johnny Triump, get a clue!
I would like to have seen Alex Jensen at Utah, but I think he had other plans. Maybe an opportunity will come down the road to get him back here.
It's nice to see Alex Smith getting some props from respected pros.
Watching Alex playing back in the day, I'm not surprised at the progress of his career. He almost took on the role of coach on the floor, and you knew he had the smarts, character and drive. It's good to see him doing well.
