Ouch! Buyers remorse from the conference of Champions.

Highland, UT

This is really embarrassing for our state.

Woods Cross, UT

This will be a hard, but worth it, transition to the PAC 12 conference....we have not beat a decent team this year!

Keep the faith!

Go Utes!

Herriman, Utah

@ianius. "...we have not beat a decent team this year!" And WON'T. That's keeping the faith!

Ha ha, that's rich considering the Seattle Times covers a Pac-12 team that went 0-12 (Washington) a few years ago, and another that won three games combined in 2009 and 2010 (Washington St.). Who wants to bet the Seattle Times wasn't calling those two teams "mistakes waiting to happen" after experiencing some difficult years?

Funny Duckhunter, I thought the same thing about you.

Holladay, UT

Re Urban - my initial reaction: Hmm, he said the same thing about Florida.

Salt Lake City, UT

when you make turnovers it masks how good of a team you really have.....stupid mistakes can kill a season.....just ask Utah and BYU!

Salt Lake City, ut

Considering how flat the Utes have come out against both opponents you could say that. At the same time this wasnt a surprise, Utah has to transtion into a conference that has better athletes and fields better teams then they are obviously used to. I mean UNLV and New Mexico dont have the strongest of programs. I think they can finish the year with 7 wins, which I consider good for a team that really doesnt have all the depth they need this year. Whitt is still the best coach in the state. The team needs to accept this year as a growing year.
Man you have no room to talk, if Utah is an embaressment in your eyes what does that say about the y? Keep hating my friend its good for us Ute fans to have a local troll. If we didnt who would we have to laugh at.

Cottonwood Heights, UT

Funny to see comments from the traditional BYU folks on a Utah article. A little obsessed with what your Daddy's doing?
On a different note, I'd rather Utah lose to a full slate of Pac 12 opponents then beat a bunch of teams nobody cares about (See BYU schedule for an example).

Fort Worth, Texas

I agree with KW, we'll start winning when we stop turning the ball over.

Embarrassing is talking about how your playing for a national championship in August only to find out you've been punked.

Salt Lake City, UT

Turnovers aren't unique to the Utes. The Texas Longhorns also had 5 turnovers and lost to Oklahoma 55-17. Hmmmm... Utah only lost 35-14. From what I learned in Cougar Math Class, that makes Utah 20 points better than the Longhorns.

Embarrassing is claiming you'll be smelling roses in August and then going winless in the "conference of champions".

anti -

Embarrassing is being a troll whose team got beat by 44 by the very team he is trying to make fun of.

Embarrassing is your travel time from your seat in LES to the parking lot in the 3rd quarter after your team was receiving a 44 point beatdown.

LOL - Duckhunter finally emerges from his swamp. We all knew it was only a matter of time before started feeling safe enough to spew his hate.

I think this officially makes the Utes a doormat of the Pac 12. He pretty much said that CU and Wazzou are having more success or equal to Utah.

"yeah i'm a ute fan and i think the utes are still going to the rose bowl. i think this cuz im narrow minded and i know everything revolves around utah.and yes i applied to byu and didnt get in, thats why im at utah haha."

U 90
Corona, CA

Duck, embarrassing would be 54-10

So much obsession with Utah. But it's no surprise to Ute fans. When you're the envy of the state, you draw everyone's ire.

We forgive you, Y trolls (Ducky inparticular)... we understand that your program is in complete turmoil right now. No conference in their right mind wants your team. Your head coach is the leader of a staff riddled with incompetence. Your team roster is pretty much the same. No quarterbacks with any talent. No running game to speak of. No hope for BCS membership... although that's deservedly so, seeing as how the Y has never even had a whiff of a BCS bowl. Gotta walk before you can run.

It's important that you know we forgive you. We... your wiser, BCS-credentialed, wealthier big brothers. Keep playing Idaho State and San Jose State and New Mexico State. Maybe one of these years you can put a string of 12 straight wins together, and maybe one of the important bowls will ask you to play.

Until then, however, stop the Big 12 talk. You have no business in a BCS league when you haven't even come close to playing in a BCS bowl.

The BCS Utes

Sadly, it seems some people FAILED to read the article. The mistake waiting to happen is the errant pass or wayward ball fumbled on the ground. Utah's offense if on the field long enough has turned the ball over to negate the once stellar turn over margin.

There was nothing in the article about buyer's remorse. I am absolutley certain they are happy to have the Utes just to get to 12, have a championship game and line hte coffers. It is not about winning. It is about money. The Utes helped make the Pac 12 wealthier.

He pretty much said that CU and Wazzou are having more success or equal to Utah.

He only said that if you're a hater looking for ammunition.

Let's take a peek:

---"It has to encourage the Cougars that they played UCLA to the nub. It has to kill them that they didn't win."

The guy never mentioned Utah. But if you're hate-filled, you make the connection yourself.

---"The Buffs (1-5) are having about as much success in their new league as Utah, but their growing pains were expected."

Again, haters will interpret this as "Colorado has an excuse to lose, Utah doesn't." But as usual, they'd be wrong.

In fact, this remark is actually a complement to the Utes. He says Colorado was expected to struggle because they've already been a bad team in a BCS conference... they're unfamiliar with the Pac 12... and they're breaking in a new coach.

Utah wasn't "expected" to have growing pains because most experts believed that Utah was already a good enough team to compete at the BCS level. Thus, their current struggles come as a surprise to many.
