We watched conference on VHS tapes weeks after conference happened, and usualy only got one session when I was serving in Poland, but that was almost 10 years earlier, so it's awesome that the members are able to watch it through sattelite broadcast now.
We just spent a weekend in Warzsawa Poland and it was fantastic to see the members of the Branch there. We attended the international branch and met members from the USA, Congo, Poland, Ukraine and Haiti. Translation was available in english, but there were other languages there such as french and german. Some of the members traveled 1 1/2 hours just to get to Sacrament meeting. It did feel like "coming home". The members had created such a special feeling in their branch and their love and respect for the Savior was inspiring.
My husband and I just wanted to stay and serve in this branch, but we will need to wait a few years for that opportunity. There were older couple missionaries there, and they were serving and having a great time. There is so much talent and knowledge in Utah alone, that could be shared and enjoyed, if more senior missionaries headed out on missions.
My husband and I can't wait until it's our turn!!
Living in the Philippines, general conference is part of my way of life. This wasn't the case 10 years ago.
I would just like to state that despite my two written and notarized requests to stop, that 13 million number includes me.
