It's funny that Josh thinks this custody thing is about his father. I can't believe Josh actually brought these two boys into his father's home, because you know Josh knew about Steve's sexual deviances. Josh has no right to keep these boys in Steve's home, and he has no right to keep these boys from their grandparents.

I always wondered why the Coxes didn't file for custody of the boys. I thought they should have them all along. I hope they get them and keep them until they are grown so they can know the full story of their mother; and also their father and his family.

"no illegal pornography"? Really? Just the legal kind? Ya, that makes it all ok! Give the boys a chance at a normal life. I pray the Cox family gets those sweet boys.

"I have had nothing to do with any kind of illegal pornography," he said.

What about the legal kind, Josh? Do you have anything to do with that? Did Susan know? What do you think she would do if she found out? And how far would you be willing to go to keep your secret?

Josh Powell hasn't been charged with anything (yet). He is the father of those boys. Unless and until he is charged with a crime, he has every right to the custody of his sons. Also, please don't be so critical of a person who enjoys porn. It's not illegal. (I realize that voyerism and other things Steve Powell has been charged with ARE illegal! And, I happen to think that porn is horribly dangerous and a threat to a happy home and family.) But, remember - Utah is the porn capital of the USA. Your dad, brother, son, uncle, cousin could be a porn afficianado.

Now now people, take off your religious tinted glasses for a moment here. There's nothing wrong with legal porn, and the "voyeurism" charge is a load of hogwash.

I maintain that the charges were drummed up in order to keep these two men from going anywhere while the final details of the real crime are nailed down.

question is, did Josh know about his father's vouyerism, pornography? and still live with him where his sons would be vulnerable? seems like he did know of his fathers flirtations with his wife, and accepted that.

I agree, after all this time, Josh has not been charged with anything. Imagine what he must be going thru if he has been telling the truth....his wife is missing. We all have family skeletons and dirty laundry. How unfortunate that his are being broadcast to the world. He is the father of these children. Those grandparents CANNOT take that away, nor can they come before his rights as a parent if he is not charged with a crime.

Deltafoxtrot - You think these charges were drummed up? You think the authorities could drum up child pornography out of thin air and charge him with it?? And how do you know the voyeurism charge is hogwash. Boy, I sure am glad that you aren't one of the people on the case. You have some issues my friend if you think that child porn is ok and that the police drummed it up. Somehow they planted thousands of illegal images of children (pictures that are confirmed to have been taken at his house, mind you) and arrested him. Yeah, seems plausible.... Wow

DeltaFoxTrot: So, please tell us how those voyeurism charges were "trumped up".

Did the WVC PD sneak into Steven Powell's home in 2006-7, lay wait in his bedroom unnoticed, and take pictures of naked little girls through Powell's bedroom window -- and THEN they waited until Susan Powell was gone for two years, and "trumped it up"?

Is THAT what you're saying?

No? Then explain your reasoning. We'll be glad to wait.

What? Some of you CSI specialists don't think the Cops would have charged Josh when they searched and took stuff including computer from his home the 1st time, if he had child porn? He must NOT have therefore when they found it on his dads they arrested dad.

They can't try to get custody of the boys unless dad is proven to be unfit parent. They removed the children because of grandpa. Now if dad continues to provide unsafe environment then he may lose custody. Then other family is considered. It isn't about who is better or if he is being unreasonable.

If grandpa was all about girls then the boys may in fact be in the home with grandpa if there is no threat to them. If grandpa has leanings that way just think how Josh grew up victimized.

Heretic, the porn doesn't have to pre-date Josh's move to Daddy's house.

Not only he has to prove is a fit parent but he is able to provide for his kids and that includes living somewhere else BUT his father's house!

Unfortunately the sins of the parents are often visited upon the children and unto many generations there after. I pray for these small boys.

I hardly think that anyone is going to vote for Steven Powell for Grandfather of the Year and he seems (based on what I have heard/read in the media) to have some issues filming women without their approval...creepy, and bordering on criminal, depending on the circumstances. It appears (from media reports) that amongst the many photos of these clad women are some photos of young children who are naked...creepier and against the law in most circumstances. Do we know if Steven Powell actually shot these pictures of the young girls himself or even viewed them? The media has referenced high-tech photo/video equipment...isn't it possible that he was hoping to catch the mom naked (still creepy and likely illegal) and ended up with the little girls instead, a result of using a motion detection device or timer on his camera? Furthermore, isn't it possible that it was automatically stored on his hard drive and he never viewed the pics of the young girls? Unless proven otherwise we must presume his innocence, no matter how damning the media reports are. BTW...let's curtail DCFS's power until a full presentation of the facts can be made.

Josh is upset that the "general public" has stopped looking for his wife? PLEASE! She is YOUR WIFE, Josh. Not only have you not searched, you have not even cooperated with the police to find her, and moved out of state a month after she "disappeared."

@deltafoxtrot "There's nothing wrong with legal porn" Really? objectifying and degrading women (and sometimes men) is wrong and sick and dangerous territory. I will never agree with there being nothing wrong with porn. I have known many non-religious families as well as religious ones who have been torn apart and damaged by the effects of porn--the 'legal' kind. Religion has nothing do do with porn being wrong. Morals do and non religious people have morals. Thank goodness!

Darn you, general public! How dare you disappoint Josh Powell by not searching for his wife? Shame on you, general public!

Look at the pictures accompanying the article. Innocent or guilty Josh already looks like a man in a whole lot of pain and this is probably just the beginning.
