Driving my own car is a headache? Really?

Compared to sitting next to strangers with BO and dealing with multiple stops and waiting for trains, I'll drive my car to work everyday. Thanks though....

The downtown commute is the worst part of my work day, but I still prefer driving to riding TRAX. The few times I've been on the train when my car's in the shop, I've been forced to stand and hold on for dear life because of the lack of adequate seating. If UDOT wanted to encourage riders, it would invest in more cars -- and lower the fare, rather than continually raising it. How does $5 per day really help me lower transportation costs? May as well keep paying for car fuel -- at least I have a seat.

Compared to the previous two commuters, I have always had a positive experience on the train. Even without factoring in maintenance and depreciation on a vehicle, I save money on my commute (South Jordan to Research Park), including not having to factor in the cost of my wife having to drive the "family car" because I have the more efficient car at my job. Plus my commute is only marginally longer, and I can use the time for work, study, or personal reading at my discretion.

Money will drive choices. If gasoline isn't expensive enough to change habits yet, it will be.
