The Corvallis article had little to say about Wynn that has not been beaten to a pulp here at the DN, so don't waste your time. The link about the Utes needing to prove they "belong" didn't carry much new material either, but it was a good read.

The Pac-12 wanted to expand to 16, so there is no reason to believe they may not continue to try. BYU certainly has the tradition, but the religious factor makes them a no. Oklahoma, defecting from UT, would be nice.

"When the four super conferences are created, they'll take the cream of the crop...and jettison the flotsom. Programs like Indiana, Baylor, Iowa State, Washington State, Utah, and Colorado will be left on the outside..."
    ---MUSSing with U

All other predictions aside, I must question your knowledge of the Big-Ten and its traditions if you think they'll discard the Hoosiers anytime soon. Remind me of the last time that league dropped a team...

"...the facts do show that BYU has accomplished significantly more on a nationalon a national scale than Utah; in fact, it's not even close or debatable.
    ---Snack PAC

People debate that 24/7 on here.

Yeah, most people could care less about your weird stats. In the last 5 years, Utah has been in the polls for most of every season, save 07, so I don't really understand why BYU fans gloat about Top 25 "finishes" so much. If you want to talk about finishing seasons the right way, I would maybe compare bowl records or something?
Also, I don't quite understand why its cool to be undefeated against bottom dwellers. I don't want to bring up weird stats like you, but im pretty sure Whit has a better record against TCU than Bronco does. That's really the only old MWC opponent I can think of that has had some measure of success besides you guys.
As far as the rest of your stats go (I.E. national championship, Heisman winner, etc.), How long has it been since BYU has had any of that? You're just proving my point even more.
BCS wins ARE success on the national level. Not those top 25 finishes you're so proud of.

Okay, okay, okay... you win! Just please quit hitting me so hard with your wonderful TV arrangement, it just hurts too bad.

I love how you always fall back to this. Do you have any thing else to say? And do you realize Ute fans just laugh every time you go to this card?

If it makes you happy I'll speak for all Ute fans and concede that you've got a better TV arrangement...THIS YEAR. Enjoy it, brag about, have fun with it. Then come back and try to comment on it every day, as you've been doing, for the next 10 years when Utah's arrangement makes BYUs look absolutely silly.

    You go girl!

Lots of meaningless BYU/Utah rhetoric on here, but sticking to the topic... now that the SEC has opted to WAIT on expansion, either the PAC 12 will not expand at all, or Larry Scott could make another push for the Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State quartet and possibly beat the Big 10 to some of these teams in what seems an inevitable move towards 16 team conferences. Meanwhile, the Big 12 (10 teams at this time) would be wise to try and survive by adding at least two teams and getting a playoff. I think a move to 16 by the Big 12 would be interesting, beat the others to the punch, and add attractive teams and markets like BYU, Boise State, San Diego State, UNLV, Air Force and find a way to pull TCU out of the Big East or possibly Memphis. Yeah, it would probably still get poached by other conferences and collapse eventually, but might be worth the shot.

"BYU is nothing more than a jealous has-been."

AP Top 25 Finishes in the Last Five Years
    BYU - 4
    Utah - 2

BYU has almost as many AP Top 25 Finishes in the LAST FIVE YEARS(4), as Utah has in its ENTIRE HISTORY(5)!

Kyle has lost to every bottom dweller in the MWC at least once.

Bronco is undefeated against Wyoming, Colorado State, New Mexico, and UNLV.

Utah has never won a national championship, had a Heisman Trophy winner, had a national individual award winner, or had a single player inducted into the college football hall of fame.

In other words, except for a couple of BCS wins, Utah's football history is bereft of any significant accomplishments on a national level.

"Then, only invite programs that have been proven that they're an elite program by being a perennial Top 25 team for at least the last 30 years."

...Is this the only way you can think of that would make the BCS include BYU but exclude Utah? Ha ha. You are really trying hard to hide the fact that Utah has has found much more success on the national level recently than BYU has. Good luck with that buddy. BYU is nothing more than a jealous has-been.

Touche my friend. I feel the same as you with the teams reversed. Nothing wrong with that in my book. That's exactly why I wish BYU was actually in the Pac-whatever. I wish the game would have more riding on it.

There's no reason for the new super conferences to be stuck with the dead weight. Just start one new major conference and divide it into four divisions:

    East, Southeast, Midwest, and West

Then, only invite programs that have been proven that they're an elite program by being a perennial Top 25 team for at least the last 30 years.

When the four super conferences are created, they'll take the cream of the crop of the current conferences and independents, and jettison the flotsom.

Programs like Indiana, Baylor, Iowa State, Washington State, Utah, and Colorado will be left on the outside looking in.

Regarding: "I think if the Pac 12 were to expand, they should seriosuly look at Hawaii, San Diego State, Fresno State, Air Force and maybe even BYU."

I wish the same. I'd love to see the Pac-XX add all those with exception of either AFA or Fresno.

The reason it will never happen is because of the almighty TV dollar. No need for the San Diego Market when you have So Cal covered. No need for AFA when you have Colorado covered.

Conference officials would tell us the same about the SLC market in regards to not needing BYU which is probably true (because BYU fans will tune into Utah games vs Pac-12 teams - we all know they will.) However the argument there is BYU does pretty well nationally because of the LDS church, that would be the best argument of that entire group of schools.

But again and unfortunately, it won't happen for that list of schools. Maybe BYU one day. Here's a Ute fan that would welcome it, I hate seeing the rivalry split by conference expansion.

Yet another super knowledge-filled comment by a BYU fan. I'll bet you had everyone thinking, yeah, no one wants USC. No one wants Nike U - I mean Oregon. Who would want Stanford linked in conversations with them? Thank you so much for your insightful comment, it really made me think.

"Depressing that the PAC10 wanted to expand and was 'stuck' with mid-tier schools like Utah and Colorado."

What hurts more, Johnny Triumph? That BYU wasn't considered when the PAC settled on mid-tier teams? Or that BYU won't be considered when the PAC goes to 16?

Looks to me like the decision was based on the modern resume.
    2 BCS games - Utah
    1 BCS game - Colorado
0 BCS games - BYU, but more than happy to take the BCS money 4 times.

The only way the Pac expands is if they can any combo of Texas/Okla/Okla State. If they get Texas they have to give up the Longhorn network or share their revenues from it. I don't see it happening with Texas, but it's a possibility with the Ok schools.

Yep, 4 super conferences will happen sooner than later. Even KWhit mentioned that in a article over the weekend in the sltrib. I love how the tds fans are downplaying everything.

    @RSLjazz,
You implying no BCS conferences would want Oregon or USC? Or where you MUST be referring to the tds. Never a BCS invite...forever mid-major!

Can you give one example of a Pac 12 school wanting to leave and being rejected by another conference? You won't find it.

Its more proper to say that nobody wants BYU. The past four decades prove it.

My prediction is that once A&M leaves the BIG12, OU/OSU join PACxx, and Texas will announce independence. No conference is willing to allow Texas their own network without equal revenue sharing. The question then becomes which other two teams will join to make the PAC16?
