Regarding the Hebrew language provisions of the bill, language policy is never really about language; it's about attempting to use language as a means to some non-linguistic goal. Good on Paredes for looking for the real reason behind these provisions.

Listen to the News, they call Israel a Jewish State already! What's wrong with them proclaiming themselves as such? Next they'll be brought before the UN to discuss "Human Rights Violations" because they proclaim themselves a "Jewish State"! Oh what a terrible thing! Get Real!!! We have the right to proclaim English the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE and save millions in paper each year! They have the right to recognize themselves as a "Jewish State"! What is wrong with you people? If the U.S. would have proclaimed itself a Christian State we would never hear the end of it! Yet France is a Catholic State along with Spain and others. England is a Protestant State, as it Canada! That is even MORE "Non-politically correct"! What about Iran, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, and so many others who are all "MUSLIM STATES"! I am sick of the rules that apply to some, but not to others! I am just tired of it!!! We are such a world of immature babies and finger pointers it is rediculous! Isn't that why Israel became a "Country" to be a land for the gathering of a Jewish Homeland? Get a LIFE!

Parades is taking an overly complex view of the matter. Israel is and was establshed as a Jewish State. The real issue right now is the idea of a Palestinian state. They should get their state, which would be a somewhat truncated version of the 1967 boundaries and excluding all, repeat all, of Jerusalem.

"The real issue right now is the idea of a Palestinian state", Nobody just handed the Jews land and said, this is yours! They took it and they EARNED IT, Scripturally IT IS THEIR'S! Where does it say "Palistine Needs A State"? Why does it have to be part of where Israel is today? Let Saudi, or Jordan, or Egypt or a combination GIVE THEM SOME OF THEIR COUNTRY and then there won't be a problem! Why does Israel have to give up what they have and EARNED after being attacked in 67? The fact is simple, ISRAEL IS ISRAEL, It IS A JEWISH STATE, and if you don't like it, MOVE! Just get off their back and let them have their nation in peace! Why does everyone insist THEY have to give Palestine LAND for a Nation? Why doesn't someone else do it? You all want Palistine to be a Country, then give them your own land to have a country! It's pretty simple, then let the two war it out alone! I guarentee you Palestine will be wiped out soon after they disrupt peace! It's the same thing over and over!

Cougar:

In principle I agree with you - I am a Jew - but at the present time such is not very likely. Yes, the Jews are the covenant people, and as such have right to all of the lands.

Missing from the discussion was the word "God." There is only one God over all the earth. His name is Jehovah, Yahweh and Muslims call Him Allah, "the God." God says, You shall only have My laws when I come, translation, when you only have My laws I will come. He is the word of God.

God never called it a Jewish nation. Strangers were to be treated as home born if they worshiped God as His people. The land has been partitioned according to the tribes of Israel. That will require distribution. Every man would have his fig tree and vine; he would build his home and plant his garden, not for others, export, but for his family. No slavery to lifelong employment or seeking riches and honors.

The primary message in the Qur'an is to follow the whole Bible. The law of the land should be the Bible, as written, not as taught by Jews, or Christians. In any litigation it would be easy to read through the Bible and find all the things that support or go against your litigation and decide if you are entitled. That would save a lot of lawsuits, time and money.

To begin with you have to consider the global area Israel is in. Most country around them are Muslim state and government so why can't Israel declare itself a Jewish state? Many countries are declaring themselves by religious population now and seems to be the norm. We declared our selves a christian nation but Obama has declared we are not a christian nation anymore so that nullifies any religious or moral values he may have or we have as a nation.

Those against this are Muslims and Obama.

I can't help but think granting equal rights to those who wish to see Israel destroyed is a bad idea. In order for a nation to exist the citizens must be loyal. We seem to have forgotten that.
