I loved "The Locator" and have had a search for it on my DVR. So I'm
disappointed to find out that there won't be any new episodes for now. Dunn is right to say that it's a tough sell to convince Hollywood to go
family friendly. Some of the most popular series ever have been canceled
quickly because they don't promote the beliefs that are held by many Hollywood
types. Just think of your favorite morally uplifting episodes, and you'll
realize that many of them died not because of lack of popularity but because
they didn't fit the typical Hollywood fare of promoting immorality.
Wait a sec! Is this is Troy Dunn of "Life Is A Football Game," which
my twin sister and I listened to with rapt attention as teenagers in the 90s?
(On a tape via our Walkman headphones, no less?) If so, then I must tune in! I
LOVED that talk, and Brother Dunn's influence in the lives of two young LDS
converts who knew about as much football as they could get from the view from
the marching band (not much, as we were too busy giggling over the boys in the
brass section) was tremendous. Thanks, Troy, and great to see you!
Way to go Troy! I remember you as a Youth Conference speaker in our Stake in
Victoria BC, over a decade ago! The memories of your presentations at that
conference came flooding back as I read this article. Wonderful to see that your
passion has sustained you and your family these many years.
This is a great show and he's a great guy. I appreciate his determination to
share the gospel in this secular world of lousy values. He's performing really
When I saw my first episode of "The Locator" I was hooked. I have
watched every episode and recorded many to rewatch. I've laughed and cried at
the reunions of families. That it is no longer on the air is a loss for so many
who enjoy excellence in reality shows. I wish it could continue, quality TV is
rare. Thank you Dunn family and God bless.
