Another heartbreaking story where the evil actions of just one devastate the lives of many. Prayers for comfort and healing to all his loved ones.

Condolences to Mr. Ivie's family. This is difficult to see and hear happen. May his family find comfort to know that their husband, father, son will be watching over them. Rest in peace, he was and is a HERO to his kin.

I drive through that intersection nearly every day. I teach at CSI and my summer classes do not meet on Friday, or I may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, as well. I also wish condolences to the Ivies at what must be a very difficult time. I am heartened that they have released statements expressing gratitude to the police. Many might be tempted to lay blame where it really doesn't belong. As Sarah B said, the evil actions of just one have devastated the lives of many.

My heart breaks for this family. I learned about the incident when camping and my brother received a call from his close friend who chased the suspect when he fled the car accident. The suspect was chased into the hotel, and then he turned on our friend, and pulled out a gun and told him to turn around or he would shoot. He exited immediately and he informed the police where the suspect was. Why did he spare our family friend and take Mr. Ivie's life without warning? So sad and shocking...

I do not know the victim or his family yet my heart breaks for them. I cannot stand to read the news anymore.
