In the midst of articles about child abusers and murderers, about thieves and
rapists, and countless other depressing crimes, there is a wonderful story about
a young man who was taught well by loving parents, and who followed the
principles he had been taught. Kudos to the whole family. And I agree...this
sort of thing should be the norm, the expected way for people to behave. Sadly,
it is not. So it is indeed refreshing to read about one young man who will
probably grow up to be a father just like the one he has.Hurrah for
In past two days we have read two stories of interest:One about 3
boys who vandalized a school and have now been caught. The other
about a boy who finds $2500 and turns it in.What is the difference
in these boys? Most likely the parents.
I commend this young boy for doing what's right, as well as his parents, but I
also think it's sad that this event is billed as out of the ordinary. Is it
really that uncommon today for people to be honest?
The kid who found the money and his family are Great Americans, who know right
from wrong, greed from honesty and have the courage to do the right thing. They may have been able to buy a lot with that much money, but honesty
and integrity are worth far more, and will make them much happier for the rest
of their lives.Great job, Utahns!
Way to go, AUSTIN!!
