Welcome young man. Now eat your Wheaties.

Chris B

Sounds like another shoe-in for Heisman. You boys must be so excited. He must have grown up dreaming of 7-6 seasons, no chance at bcs games, season realistically over after 3 games, all while watching big brother play in BCS games.

To each his own.

Fallacy Argument:

That a recruit will pick one school over another based on conference affiliation.

Why? Do they get more playing time? Are they paid more? Do they get gift bags from one conference and not the other?

No. Game is 60 minutes; same for everyone.

Do players always go to the team with the most impressive record, traditions, or history? Nope. If they did, there would be only three teams, USC, Notre Dame, and Michigan each with 7,000 teammates. But still there is only 60 minutes in a game where only 11 play on offense and 11 on defense.

What could it be?

Maybe they choose because they are a good fit, will get to play, and at the position they want, they like the coach, or other teammates.

Interesting that none of those variables are conference based.

I can guarantee conference affiliation is not even in the top ten when kids make up their minds. Maybe 13 or 14th, but not in the top ten.

Don't believe me? Why would a 4 star recruit ever go anywhere but the SEC then?

Variables lots of them. Conferences are in there, but not at the top.

Utes have left for the PAC 10.2. Why are they still commenting on BYU articles?

See ya!

but we have 2, count them two! BCS wins!

So what, arent you supposed to be leaving?

but we are better then you.

Fine, stop commenting on our boards.

but youre nothing. You are independent.

Great, go away, and go play with your small share of $30+ million)
but your Honor Code is stupid.

And your point is?

but recruits will want to play here because we play in the conference of champions.

And hows that working out for you?

No non-LDS kids will ever want to go to BYU.

You understand that youre in another conference now, right?

But our two BCS wins are better than your NC.

I am not sure you get this whole separation thing.

But we are a research school.

Yeah for you?

but we are better than you.

Are you sure? Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself? If you were better, you wouldnt have to tell everyone else, least of all us lowly BYU fans who are not worth your time.

That is so great!!!!!!!!!

Your posts had me rolling on the floor. I can imagine steam coming out of Ute fans ears when they read that.... Good job..

Plus it really makes you see who has the little brother syndrome. It's just good that there grandma's let them know the password to the computer. Otherwise it would be all TV, Ping Pong and beer drinking in there basements. I'm sure that them surfing the web gives them much needed silence.

Chris B's comments sound like a perfect decription of the next 10 years of Ute football mediocrity. 7-6 at best and no BCS bowl games. They should have stayed in the Mtn West except for the PAC 12 money. They would probably have a better chance at a BCS game in the Mtn West rather than with the PAC12. Ooops forgot about all those PAC12 teams that are on probation or will be soon. Maybe the Utes will have a chance afterall. Ah, then there is basketball. Lots more PAC12 TV exposure to that program will not be a good thing. 5-25 every year, zero recuits, players leaving right and left. Heard the new coach was having open tryouts and no one showed up.

Star Fairy,

Not all of them can go to the SEC to play for the same reason as you said that Michigan, USC & Notre Dame would all have 7000 players. If they are good enough & want to go far from home over off the west coast, they would go play at Florida over some other schools. Position they get to play, coaches, having family who gets to see games are on top of a recruits list, but to say that conference affiliation is the 13th or 14th item on their minds is the fallacy. More doors have been opened for Utah, TCU, and even bYu since they have changed conferences. It does play a HUGE role in where a kid goes to play. There are some like this kid that his dad played, & he grew up a fan of that team. So no matter who recruited him, if his favorite team came calling, he is going to go. The Utes never would have got Langi, Anthony Denham, or Keith Mcgill this past year had they still been in the MWC. It might not be the 1st thing on recruits mind, but it's closer to 5 or 6, not 13.

Yes, Utah got two BcS wins.

But who won the National Championship?

CougFaninTX

The kid averaged 7 yards per carry at Central Catholic as a Sophomore. Can't wait to see what he does as a Junior and Senior. It'll be interesting to see what side of the ball this kid ends up on.

But reality just set in. He'll be a
HS Junior in 2011
HS Senior in 2012
Redshirt in 2013
Mission in 2014 and 2015
Freshmen in 2016
Sohpomore in 2017
Junior in 2018
Senior in 2019

The future is bright, but we're going to have to wait awhile to see this one at his peak.

@Chris B

Just can't contain yourself, can you?

No, he grew up wanting to play for a Legacy School with a National Brand, one that actually has a Heisman Trophy and Outlands, O'Brien's, Baugh's, Doak Walker etc. you know the drill.

He also realizes that having every game Nationally televised is pretty cool too.

So why play for wannabee utes who play on kued and fox regional?

He also realizes that a Legacy Program is not built on 6 good years and two silly contrived games called BCS.

Yes indeed, these young bucks are pretty bright.

Go Cougars!

Clearly this kid wanted to be on ESPN, so he chose BYU!

@Chr.. B (Better monitor boy?)

Utah was also recruiting me, too, but I wasn't really interested in them. I'm a BYU guy."
This speaks for itself, doesn't it.

I've always wondered Y the LDS church doesn't have LDS high schools outside of Utah? ( Yes, I know they got the public system in Utah at no cost).

"The Utes never would have got Langi, Anthony Denham, or Keith Mcgill this past year had they still been in the MWC".

Are you saying that you have actual proof (statement on record) that none of these young men would have chosen utAh if they had not been invited to join the pAc? So according to you, the only thing utaH has going for them to draw more than a 2 star athlete is their membership in the paC. So when an athlete has a chance to go to either Utah or any other paC team, will they choose the other team since the other team is in the paC but they aren't uTah?

"Clearly this kid wanted to be on ESPN, so he chose BYU!"

That does it; I'm going to sign a contract with Yankees so I can be on ESPN too.

WHAT NOW?
Saint George, UT

Jersey says Westview.

Story says Central Catholic.

Why is he moving from Westview to Central?

As a Soph. this kid is the real deal. Both sides of the ball. Watched "tape" of "Jesuit" game.

High 4.5?

Hand held?

Electronic?

Any chance on picking-up Aidan Wilder from Central?
