Like so much of the Obama administration's agenda, this scheme is nothing more than an excuse to spend federal money pushing programs with no real benefits.

Other than getting credit for meeting invisible goals for "diversity" just what actual benefits are produced for a business by having the desired number of purple, green or orange people involved? Well, maybe they would be eligible for huge government loans and grants.

The economy is improved when real businesses provide goods or services that customers want at attractive prices that also allow for a reasonable profit.

Note that "diversity" is not a factor in that.

However, excessive government regulations and meddling and social engineering of tax policies can do a lot to stifle or kill businesses.

If politicians want to create economic recovery, they should be talking about cutting taxes and regulations, not imaginary "diversity benefits."
