I remember when I first came to the relization that I was now offically an adult. I had been married for about 5 years and had my first child. I was talking to a friend about the new carseat I had gotten. We were both very intrested in it's features and I took her out to my car to see it. I get excited about new appliances (more when they're mine) and I'm intrested in why people choose what they do.

That being said, I too would just like a day to do whatever I wanted without regard to what someone else needs. It would probablly entail taking a nap, but sleeping undisturbed for 30 min or more would be amazing.

This is so true! Being a mom means being pretty selfless - your want list is a short list buried beneath your wants for your kids, you always give up the last cookie or piece of cake, diamonds and new cars don't seem nearly as important as music lessons and soccer camps, and giving is truly much more fun than getting. I think that the most important thing about a mom's birthday is that her children honor her and remember her special day - even it if is with homemade cards and hugs. It helps them learn how much fun it is to give.
