Menace, I take it you are not familiar with his size or history? Even as a world class athlete (retired in 2004) he had to work hard to keep his weight in the 265-285 range. I imagine his final(unrecorded) weigh-in at BL was in the 290's since he was at 301 the week before and he had lost 7 lbs each of the last two weeks.

I think something here is fishy... Why didn't they show him "As he looks now" like he did the girl and the other past contestants... I hear he doesn't go to the finale either... What is the real scoop?

It was reported today that Rulon has been spending time at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs considering a comeback in Greco Roman Wrestling. I am glad to see him get his fire back. He is an athlete with a competitive heart, Biggest Loser just helped him to remember it.

Let him live his life tv addicts..... Maybe he will be trumps vp....

hopefully Rulon can continue and knock another 50 lbs off and get to a more healthy weight. 301 is still too high.

Rumor is that he was going to be disqualified so they forced him to quit.
News about someone being disqualified in season 11 was leaked a while ago and now other sources confirm Rulon was breaking rules(e.g. walking off the ranch to use a hidden cell phone and eating chips in his room).

You have done fantastic Rulon. You keep going on your wonderful life.

So basically Rulon gets what he wants from the show, then just leaves them high and dry. nice job Rulon. NBC invested a lot of money into him. I'm pretty sure all contracts for these types of shows will have the "Rulon" clause in them.

We sell our soul to be on a reality TV show, and we can come and go as we please? Doesn't "The Biggest Loser" have a say in this?

Cottonwood Heights, UT

Math question. 474 minus 301 is 173 lbs. not the 188 mentioned by the article. What's the real number?

I refuse to watch The Biggest Loser without Rulon Gardner on it.

Come to think of it, I refuse to watch The Biggest Loser anyway.

Rulon just let himself down. He claims he wants to get back into wrestling for personal reasons, but I think he has come to a crossroads of not wanting to go further, as he only relies on the past to feel connected to people. Was he possibly scared of what the future holds for him?

I'm shaking my head.

I'd guess there is a good reason they didn't show his weight last nite -- he's probably back to his habits of eating candy bars and chips again.

Kaylee wanted to walk away a few weeks ago, and they told her she could. They stated no one has to stay and it's not a prison. So yeah, he could walk away, because they've made that clear when others wanted to. Personally, I think he's still got some issues to work out, but best of luck to him and everyone else on the show!

I had decided to watch the show because of Rulon, then I read about his life and how he just seems to think he is more important than anyone else, so I didn't watch the show. So what does he do? He quits, he thinks he is above anyone else and walks away, kind of the use them and lose them way of life. The title of the show that he walked away from is fitting for him. Please people, do not tell your kids about him, this is not how we want to teach children to act and behave.

Wow, so much judgment. Just let the guy live his life. I choose to think of him as a tremendous Olympic athlete, more than any of us could ever accomplish.

I've talked with Rulon several times, and he has always seemed like a very humble guy. I never got the sense that he thought he was better than everyone else.

What Ever People... It is his life, let him do what he wants... It is still a free country...is it not?
