Golf is a funny game. It loves consistency. It loves mediocrity. Let me explain...

Consistency is self-explanatory. If you're consistently hitting fairways and greens in regulation, you've got the best chance to make birdies. If you're consistent in your putting, you'll make more birdies than you otherwise could.

Mediocrity? Well, timing is everything in hitting clubs, especially the long ones. Just a little bit off and you're way off course on your shot. The faster you swing (meaning the longer you hit it), the hard it is to maintain perfect timing for online shots. Of course, hitting too short makes long holes difficult to birdie. Therefore, golf loves it when you're "within" yourself (mediocre). Which, of course, breeds consistency.

It's not hard for short people, who hit it shorter than taller people who have the bigger swing arc for longer shots, to compete because they can be more consistent.

Kudos to Zac for showing us "little folk" that the big bruisers aren't all that!
