None of these comments about how amazing he is address Reilly's point. Can he play NBA caliber defense? Im interested in your thoughts. There have been a ton of great college scorers that have been duds in the NBA(especially recently). I just looked up the nations leading scorer in he past ten years and none of them have had any sort of NBA career. Is there something in Jimmer's game that sets him apart? Because a lot of them scored more. Again I am not attacking him just not seeing it happen.
It's Friday night and Jimmer just won the Wooden Award. Tell me again how many Wooden Awards Rick Reilly has won. Jimmer Fredette is a great basketball player and, more importantly, a truly humble and decent young man. There aren't many real heroes left for young guys to emulate, but for a few months in 2010-2011 they had one. All the speculation about Jimmer's NBA future might be interesting, but this college season was made so much more special because of him. The guy who was too slow, too short, not athletic enough and who couldn't play defense(?) just swept the individual awards. In the end, he even Jimmered Rick Reilly!
