From a Bountifulonian....(hometown, now in Fruit Heights)
How depressing!
What about Richfield or Vernal taking up a little slack.
Funny you should say that, Poppa Al. I was just thinking that Fruit Heights could take on the burden. They could use some excitment up there along the foot hills. Maybe you could drum something up at the old cherry factory.
Go Gators!
Gators are out, JJ. :)
As a fellow Provoan, born and bred, thanks for the article.
I've lived in the Provo Orem area for the last 25 years and have never head the the Rooster restaurant mentioned in this article.
QQ. If you can't stand the heat, stop living in a backwards society
Haven't read any of your articles. Can't get past the picture accompanying the article. Obnoxious.
@Orem Parent:
The owner of Rooster lives in the same ward as C. Jane hence the mention. I know because I was in that ward once. $8 for 8 dumplings wasn't worth it so I never went to Rooster.
All I can say is--Provo--welcome to the "real world".
The rest of the world (well--the majority of it--especially outside of UT--and especially outside of "bubble land" has been having stake conferences digitized for a while now.
WE consider ourselves lucky--to not have to drive 1.5 hours or more to our "local" stake building--and instead only have to drive the 15-45 minutes (or more) to the local Ward or Branch building.
Yep--digitalization is a beautiful thing!!!!
Apparently irony is lost on the masses. Nice article!
This was another great article, CJane. Thanks, Deseret News for having her write for you. To that lady that has lived in Orem 25 years and never heard of Rooster, I'm so sorry to hear that. You've got to get out more. It wasn't next to the Applebees, so you might have to get out of your comfort zone a little. I'm so sad to see Rooster go. Those $35 dumplings only cost $8. What a deal. I'm saying it because it's true, not because the owner was in my ward. Who cares if the owner was in CJane's ward? Can't she care about the place because it was good, even if she knows who owns it?
