Grades were all well deserved. A great team victory!
I think a few of these guys may deserve A minuses, but you can't quibble too much with such an effective and decisive performance, especially when BYU were the underdogs. Great performance by the Cougars.
Simply stated --- wow. Incredible team victory, with everyone involved.
Team all night long baby, all night long. Nice work Emery, Hartsock, Rodgers and last but certainly not least Charles in charge Abuo nice work boys. Wow 22 goin away, Jimmer top point getter for the day 34 nice.
Yeah baby, yeah.
James A has been around a few years. I believe he is a junior. Please quit shooting and just kick it out.
Coaching A+! Hopefully Utah does not go after Coach Rose. They would be stupid not to.
When you go to school, it's a mark of achievement to get straight A's.
When you play a big game like tonight, not only is it a mark of achievement, it's sweet (16) to get straight A's! congratulations on a TEAM WIN!
Go Cougars!!
BYU is learning how to play with their new configuration. There have been growing pains and they will continue to improve.
Loved the team work and the excellent performance by all. Incredible job of neutralizing the big men from Spokane.
If we could keep Noah and Charles out of foul trouble Cougs would dominate.
OH, yes, we did that tonight. My error.
Too generous of grades for a few of the players, but good job cougs.
A's all around, including the coach. I love A's. This team gets A's for everything.
Coach Rose played to BYU's strength and found more to put on the court that we have seen before. Great outing for everyone, even the bench who all got in and contributed. Cheering your teammates on counts alot in this type of game, in this league, in this venue, in this tournament.
Go Cougars.
Getting the early shots to drop and having Emery contribute more offensively is a major difference in BYU blowouts vs BYU sqeakers,,,
Did you see Davies on the bench, supporting his team / replacements? A+.
OK, Did you see Magnus get blocked on a routine, wide open reverse layup - By The RIM?? Definitely a B-.
Tell you what - they put on the same team performance against Florida, I'll put them all on the honor roll - even if they don't play a minute.
COACH OF THE YEAR - What a job of coaching when under pressure. All coaches deserve A+ for what they've done this year. Keyis to victory - PREPARATION - all players credit PRE-GAME coaching. Kudos to all in the program.
A little generous with a couple of the guys but I think the team gets an A-. Room for improvement(not much). They could end up in the NC game if they play this way for 3 more games.
Re: Anderson--
He filled up the middle and--according to some of the Zag players--was a 'huge' factor defensively against them. He 'made it difficult' for 'Zaga's Bigs to pick us totally apart down underneath!
So we need Anderson's continued presence--even if it's to make the other teams more 'honest' down in the paint. The coaches and James have progressed his defensive game this year, and (quietly) it's beginning to pay off. Only foul-troubles keep him off the floor. He's no stiff. And when he's open underneath, he knows how to get the ball in the hole. He just neeeeds to push himself with a bit more ferocity to get some separation down-under. THEN his teamates will be willing to zip the ball down to him, and he'll contribute (a bit more, offensively) as the tournament progresses.
Agreed: All got and deserved an "A" in THIS round. Now, they must bring their "A" -game to the next level of competition! GoooOO COUGS!!
great opening plays, they attacked early and had no fear. When substitutions were made they were done with the right guy at the right time, great job Coach Rose. You had the team ready and have done a great job working in other players without Davies. We have POY and COY, and hopefully TOY. Go Y
