To go along with asking I have found that telling people something that they havent asked for they don't remember and are often not interested. So I wait until I am asked before giving the information.
That follows the Doctrine and Covenants in which the revelations given were given only after a question was asked of the Lord. At that point the Lord had the attention of Joseph and others that the revelation was for.
Wait for the question, then you know they are interested and will remember.
