...gonna buy five copies for my mother...
I guess if there are 5 regional covers, Jimmer would only be subjected to 1/5 of
the SI curse.BTW, Hedgie. If you truly do not live in Utah, send me
a comment replay and I will try to help you get a Jimmer cover.
Hedge your sarcasm isn't lost here. Nor is your history of constantly posting
negative comments on BYU stories and then getting very upset if a BYU person
posts a negative comment on a Utah story. But my return question is
simple and not really BYU or Utah flavored. More NBA flavored. Why in the
world would European teams try to outbit the NBA here? A first round draft pick
gets a guaranteed 3 year + contract. Basically what you are saying
that 30 plus teams are going to pass on a consenus all american. My
take is you have a little bit of the Chris B syndrome here. You pick from your
heart and not from reality. Happens all the time. Don't feel bad.
To those who wonder at Jimmer's pose for Sports Illustrated, all the guys on
this regional cover posed this way. It is actually really fun. Check it out at
Jimmer started the season on the cover of SI -- superheros like Jimmer are
immune to the curse.
The curse of the SI cover, oh no.
Obama praised Romney, and they said "Obama taints Romney", maybe Obama
is trying to "taint" the Jimmer.
Only the cover? They won't have him in the swimsuit issue?
The "Cover Jinx". Perfect!
Posed Action Photos. What will we think of next.I just got my SI
Swimsuit Issue. Lots of Female Jocks in that issue to include
Many times having your side story in SI, does not turn out to be a good
thing. Can we all say Smarty Jones.
I am still hoping Pres. Samuelson will reinstate Davies for the tournament.
Don't you think they owe Jimmer that. Then Obama will really have something to
cheer about during the final four.
That is the FIRST thing in two years that Obama has said that I ACTUALLY agree
with. The man has style.
Patriot; Jealous much?
patriotGetting a little desperate aren't you.I suppose
MWC Defensive Player of the Year just stood around watching Jimmer shoot. None
of Jackson' 7th in the nation steals made any difference.By your
logic, we should rewrite history. Strip away all of the great players from their
teams. None of the hard work by the role players deserves any credit. It was all
just the star.Get real!
Nice to see Jimmer getting the national recognition he deserves, he represents
BYU very well. Now hopefully the nation will do him right and vote him as
National player of the year.
Hey hedgehog. Who did you pick to win the BYU/Wofford game?
hedgehogDon't worry your little self to sleep in your little
hedgehog hole.I'm sure Jimmer will have a very qualified business
agent to handle his endorsement contracts in Europe while he's playing in the
"Jimmer deserves all the recognition nationally and then some.. BYU
doesn't."Typically clueless comment from a desperate Utah troll
- you can't separate Jimmer from BYU. They're one and the same. You're just jealous that Utah has NEVER had a player as exciting as Jimmer.Like BYU and Danny Ainge. BYU and Steve Young. BYU and Ty Detmer.BYU and Jimmer will always be inseparably connected.
A rare moment indeed when the Prez and I are on the same page. Looking forward
to a great run by the now "underdog"cougars.
Hopefully this exposure will trickle over to Europe. It might help out with his
contract negotiations next year.
Way to go Jimmie.. Now he just to get the Cover of the Rolling Stone.
I have no problem with the pose. It's a Pistol Pete fun shot. Far too often the
players on covers try to appear super tough. Why so serious? They
ain't Roman gladiators.Congrats on the cover.Jimmer is
change Cougar fans can believe in....
Jimmer deserves all the recognition nationally and then some.. BYU doesn't.
As a VERY non-BYU fan I offer my congratulations to Jimmer and the Cougs (not
that I'll be rooting FOR them, but for once I may not be rooting AGAINST them.)
However, I have to go with Waylon77 and ask who picked that pose? It's
ridiculous! Why couldn't they put a good un-staged action shot of him or
Here in Denver for the game a couple of days early. Local sports radio has
been comparing Jimmer to Tim Tebow. Both good Christian men who are wonderful
representatives of all that is good with college athletics. The only
difference one host noted is that Tebow has the trophies-while Jimmer
who was the last Utah based college hoops player to be on the cover of SI? Was
is Wayne Estes or has someone else been there? Ainge maybe or Bogut.
When does this issue come out?
Decades from now we'll be saying "Win one for the Jimmer". Now its
just, "Jimmer, win!"
Best matchup on Thursday: The Jinx vs. Jimmer.
I thought there was a big SI cover page curse, combine that with being jinxed by
the President and wow. Hopefully he can Jimmer the curse.
I am happy for Jimmer, but honestly who picked that pose? It looks like he
practicing skipping with a basketball. And what a game face, really
That is cool. I'm not a BYU fan, but really you couldn't choose a better person
to be a representative for any university. He is a nice, well spoken kid. Great
for him to be the face of BYU.
That's cool for Jimmer. But too bad Sports Illustrated is garbage. You know what
I'm talking about.
Everyone barack has picked ends up flat on their face. Sorry, Jimmer you just
been baracked. If barack really care he would take back his picks. Every team
ends up losing when he chooses them.
Sorry Mitt but we just swung Obama's way.
Well deserved, although deeply concerning. The infamous SI Cover Jinx
could well spell doom for the limping to the finish line Cougs. Hopefully
not. Go Cougs!
Well-deserved accolades for a great young man.If anybody has earned
a couple of wins in the Big Dance, it's Jimmer.Good luck tomorrow
Jimmer and the rest of the Cougars!
For once, Pres. Obama knows what he's talking about.
That's a big honor... congratulations Jimmer and BYU!
