How is it that the trust belongs to the FLDS? They didn't answer the lawsuits against it and therefore defaulted in suits brought by Elissa Wall, the Lost Boys and Brent Jeffs. Those are the rightful owners of the trust.

I am glad that this comment section has not yet been taken over by those who are mad at Shurtleff because his actions to undermine the ability of the FLDS Church to fund its illegal activities have made it harder for them to claim that the Utah government does nothing to oppose polygamy.
I often wish Shurtleff made different choices, but I think his balanced policy and his decision to only pursue cases with high chances of winning is on the whole the right one.
Those who attack him generally do not have a solution, other than maybe a repeat of the Short Creek raid, jack booted police enforcers and suspending the Bill of Rights to facilitate putting every last FLDS Church member in jail for hte rest of their lives.
