No it's not too late, just shoot the ball 30-40 times a game with a handful of those attempts five feet past the half court and you are there.

He's a nice person, but I wouldn't like his style if I was a teammate of his, and yes Damian Lillard is still the best potential NBA player in the state right now!

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

Great article - I can totally relate - we have Jimmermania in our home - glad I'm not the only one with a worried wife.

@7dawg: no, not jealous at all. I wish Jimmer all the best. I think the Jazz will draft him for PR reasons, but I don't think his game will play well in the NBA, and being a fan of teams and team-minded players, I find it difficult to see a man celebrated for taking so many shots, especially when his game is off. How many more shot attempts does he have over the next BYU player? I bet if you ask some of his teammates off-the-record, they would admit that they don't like playing with him. Excuse me if I don't like the carnival that is Jimmermania. Let's see how BYU does in the tournament--they don't exactly have a good track record.

Oh by the way, better enjoy this year because next year starts the obscurity of high school gyms and no name teams (other than Gonzaga--for nostalgia and possibly St. Marys) in the West Coast Conference. I kind of feel bad for the BB team getting thrown under the bus for BYU football...but whatever.

Cheers.

Is Jake Heaps a ball hog for passing the ball more than anyone else on the team? No.

Like Heaps, Jimmer starts with the ball. Also like Heaps, Jimmer takes so many shots because that's the style of the offense. He can make long jumpers, short jumpers, crazy layups, or draw contact, which results in free throws for a 90% free throw shooter. Defenses cannot lay off of Jimmer. They have to swarm him or get burned ... which allows other players to be open. For as often as Jimmer does shoot, he does pass off more. That does not always add to an assist, but he is looking for other players.

I love BYU and Jimmer... but am I the only one tired of hearing about Jimmer every day? It's almost as bad as the daily Charlie Sheen articles!

I guess I'm just Jimmer'd out.

Love to watch him play... just tired of all the talk.

Can't wait to watch the MWC tournament and actually watch Jimmer play.

All the pressure is off now. BYU won the MWC and they don't feel like they need to win the MWC tournament to prove anything (a tournament that I personally think is a total joke since every game... every year... is a home game for UNLV). But I think BYU is going to play very relaxed (which may give us a chance to see Jimmer at his best).

The NCAA tournament may not be so relaxed for BYU. They have a lot they need to prove there.

As the mother of JimR (the original "Jimmer" as documented in my journal from 1973) a rose by any other name will smell as sweet. We all have something to give and contribute. Our JimR is the best son, brother, friend, husband, and dad ever, and a true blue Cougar fan! We have loved this season of celebrating and cheering for the "Jimmmer's" in our lives; our JimR Petty and Jimmer Fredette. Go BYU and Jimmer!
