Thanks to the Des News for compiling these links. But seriously, why is there one about Urban Meyer in every single one? I could care less about Meyer. He did a lot for this school and put us on the map, but come on!

what's missing from the ranking is that Kwhit does a great job AFTER signing day. Last year Utah brought in three 4 star recrites after Feb. 2nd.

As we speak, Utah is brining in some very intersting players... including a 6'8 OG out of Southern Cali... which Dirk refuses to talk about for some reason.

Dirk,

You stated that Utah finished 8th in the PAC 12 in recruiting this year, but the link you provided states that Utah finished 7th in recruiting this year. From the article:

"In his first offseason in the Pac-12, Whittingham had his best recruiting class ever. It ranked 45th nationally and the average player in the class had 2.95 stars. They may only be seventh in the Pac-12, but it is a good start...I see Whittingham climbing this list in the next few seasons."

7th is a pretty good start for Utah. Dirk, double check facts next time.

There are so many athletes out there now days. The real magic happens when they finally get the pads on and become a team. You can have wonderful recruiting classes but if the leader can't bring them together around a common goal and get buy-in from the players the team will fail. Coach Whittingham knows how to get buy-in and is a winner.

You sure are desperate to make it seem better than it is wedgie. There aren't any top recruits sitting around waiting for whittingham to find after signing day is over. If the utes are signing another one at this point it is because absolutely no one else wanted them.

ducky,

I assume that's what your anger and jealousy tells you.

Reality? A lot of 4 star talent falls between the cracks between now and next fall. Playing time, over recruiting, change of coaching staff, broken promises ect....

Kwhit has approx. 5 scholarships to work with... just watch what he does with them.

Utah now plays in a different sandbox than the tds and the talent proves it....that is besides the scoreboard.

Solid class for Utah. Hope they finish better than 8th in the league. Whit will do it if it can be done. Do they know the PAC teams they will play out of division this fall?
Duck Hunter; Let sleeping hogs lie. If they are not spewing their usual no-class banter then don't drop to their level by instigating. Let's encourage civility and make fun of them only when they don't show it. Utah is a class school and I am looking forward to seeing them play in the PAC.

Best of luck to Utah, they'll have their hands full in a tough conference...no matter the recruits.

I've always said:

Kwhit and everyone else for that matter could take a good lesson from Chris Peterson. Peterson has outsmarted them all. Period.

Coach Whitt does a great job at both recruiting and forming them into a team. I agree with Big_Ben, Kyle does not belong in Urban's shadow. He had proved himself over and over.

That was a great move by Andre Miller. I've always wondered why no one has tried that. It always seems like both teams quit playing in anticipation of timeout.

Thanks TJ for showing some class. I hope BYU gets most of what they hope for as an independent team. The only thing I don't want to see them get is wins against the Utes.

Duckhunter, I know this is a cliche, but people in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks. Maybe your comment would carry some weight if BYU's recruiting class was a little better.

ranked 8th in pac 10.2? Sounds about right!

Chris b's momma,

Let me ask you this.

What if BYU was accepted into the PAC12 ( I know I'm laughing as well). Where would the kewgar recruitng class rank in the PAC?

Year one - so far so good. Kyle will have these kids ready to play. Will be fun and the teams coming to RES are a whole new level!

Ready for summer - but, can't wait for the fall!

Ted Miller of ESPN has a great PAC12 (utah) blog. ( an espn perk for being associated with a BCS conference) and I recommend Ute football fans to check it out... updated several times a day.

It would be nice to have a "local" Utah voice as committed to Utah/Pac 12 news and information as Ted is....I guess DN's management has a different agenda.

Don't forget if USC gets there appeal denied there is going to be a lot of kids who can't afford to stay there and go to school without the scholarship. Maybe we haven't seen the last of the recruiting class and Coach Witt is than looking like a genius with 5 extra scholarships to give out. To Be Continued......

Golfhack20,

Yea, that question has been brought upon on USC blogs.

The thought is that USC would keep the 33? recruites they signed this year and have the difference made up over the next three years. Basically meaning USC would be allowed about 13 recuites per year.

Should be an interesting year to say the least. I am one of those BYU fans who thinks Utah will do great their first year in the PAC 12. To win the championship might be difficult the first year but within 5 years not an impossibility. I have loved Coach Whittingham since the day he put on a Cougar Uniform and regretted that we did not get him. Doesn't mean I don't like Coach Mendenhall because he is a great coach too, he just has a different set of rules that makes recruiting a bit different. Whittingham is an intelligent and talented coach and he will make good use of this opportunity, anyone can bet on that. Only arrogant BYU fans would think differently. I wish the Utes all the success. The more successful they are the better it is for all of the State of Utah.
