When was the last time East won at Highland? I heard a rumor that it has been 17 years! Is that true?

1991-1994, East hoops won at Highland every year. Since then, who knows?

Highland students don't always act the way they should just as students at all other high schools.

But the East students did something I would hope even high school student wouldn't do.

During the singing of the national anthem being performed by the boys choir they had to try and put highland down by singing over the top of them.

I'm all for high school spirit and the students in the bleachers also trying to outdo the other school. I actually think it make the games a lot of fun.

But the East student (and this could have been any schools students) need to understand the national anthem is not a Highland song or any other schools song.

That was the completely wrong way to try and show up Highland. All it did was show a lack of understanding of the national anthem.

Please East and all other students show some respect for the USA and the national anthem.

P.S. At multiple games I have also heard parents talking during the national anthem also. I thought the adults would at least show respect. But I guess that is where the students get it from.

Just My Opinion-
Thank You!!! I was at this game and was disgusted with this. I understand about all of the rivalry between East and Highland. I'm not saying that the rest of the game was bad...in fact is was pretty calm and harmless as far East-Highland games go. But the National Anthem thing really bothered me! While all the kids may be in costume, it isn't an excuse to be direspectful to our country. I watched and everyone in the Highland crowd was shocked that the East kids would do that.
