Tough, tough game. Utah came to make a contest of it and it was probably their best game of the year. It was one of BYU's worst games of the year however with Davies, Hartsock and Fredette missing some of the simplest layup, put backs and uncontested jumpers. Abouo was fantastic and Jackson Emery was all over Utah with steals and breakaways. I don't think you can say Utah got Jimmered (23 points) and you go Abouo'ed just doesn't cut it. Maybe Utah can just ask "Y?"

Okay, sorry. That was supposed to say "you got Abouo'ed" just doesn't cut it.

Abouo is stepping up and he will be needed in the tournaments. Some teams will be able to stop Jimmer and having another option besides Davies and Emery is very helpful.

Glad to see my Cougs beat Utah once again and for more contribution by a few more players. I like Rose and this team is perhaps the best ever. Fredette is a unique player and deserves POY. But I have serious reservations about the level of play they will bring to the MWC tournament and especially the NCAA's, where everyone steps up to win. I don't see that dominating fire yet in Fredette or his teammates. Only one BYU team has made it to the elite 8 - EVER.

BYU smack talk never gets old. Just remember that the "number 7 team in the country" was tied to us coming off a loss to san diego st by 30 at your place with 6 minutes left. If anything you should be talking about your own team and just how over rated you really are.

West Jordan, Utah

BYU beat you by 30 points or more in Salt Lake, yet SDSU only beat you by a dozen or so. And BYU beat UNLV by a ton in Vegas, yet SDSU barely squeaked by today.

And your point is???

Derek, my man. The record speaks for itself; the RPI speaks for itself; the Utes record speaks for itself (the Utes will be back - only question is when)

BYU has a good team. They may get a loss between now and tournament time. The world won't stop. They may even lose the tournament at some point, maybe early, maybe late. At the same time, someone has to win it, so let's pull for a team from utah, eh...

But even you can acknowledge that BYU haa had a good year, have a great player, have several good players, and have created some pretty exciting bball.

Last of all, lighten up a little! Enjoy life, You are a little on the critical side today. Take a happy pill

Utah's best game and BYU's worst, yet we still win by 13 points. Yeah, some players didn't have an awesome night but other team members stepped up and gave us the win. It was a tough game but well deserved win. GO COUGS!!!!

Springville, UT

Cupcakes anyone? It looks like the PAC-10.2 is getting a fresh batch next season!

Way to go Cougars! Good to see that this team has options and that other players can be the key to winning.

Hey utah, Thanks to BYU, Yew are about to be on ESPN again,

BYU has doubled your appearances on National TV (of course it's been all about Jimmer)

Go Jimmer

signed a jealous boYlen.

I'm sorry for all the sleepless nights the Ute fans have experienced since basketball season started.

Since their own team hasn't done squat this season, the only thing left for them to do is scream, "BYU IS OVERRATED!" All the while hoping and praying the Cougs get dropped early in the MWC and NCAA Tournament.

Salt Lake City, UT

Rose must have been feeling sorry for the Yews tonite....Jimmer got a lot of rest today!

ClarkHippo-The same could have been said about BYU fans during football season. Many echoing how overated the Utes were when they rose to #5---hoping and praying they would fall to TCU, ND, and Boise State. My guess is you were one of them.

If BYU doesn't make it to the Elite 8, then yes, they will have been overrated. I'm not saying that they are---just stating that when you are doing well---haters from the other side would like to see their rival fall---and it goes both ways.

For me, I hope the Cougars represent in the tourney---but if they don't then it still would have been a remarkable season for Fredette.

Thought the Utes played tough, but I don't think it was their best. Nor do I think it was BYU's worst. BYU is 13 points better than the U.

Good luck.

West Jordan, Utah

MiP, an upset lose in the Big Dance does not make the season a failure nor does it mean the team was overrated. Rarely do the best 8 teams in the country make it to the elite 8 - if ever.

This BYU team has been one of the best AND most entertaining teams to ever come out of the state of Utah - and I will enjoy them till the very end. Once this year is over, given the track record of Coach Rose, I will then look forward to yet another very successful campaign next year.

Go Cougs!

Can't believe so many ute fans turning against their own team. Fire the coach! The utes played well and Boylen did a good job coaching with so many new players. With a tough league, they've done well.

Salt Lake City, UT

I am so bummed that after all the double/triple teaming (and fouling) we did on Jimmer that we still lost to the kewgs. Guess Coach Boylen's strategy backfired because tds is more than Jimmer. Abouo and Emery made us look bad. And Jimmer was there when needed the most in the 2nd half and put the game out of reach. He's amazing. I hope he gets POY and tds gets to the Final Four!

Mcallen, TX

Chris B,

You under estimate your own team. Playing in a tough conference with so many new players,--Boylen's done a very good job. I would be very happy with tonights game. In the Marriot Center, not to many teams have done any better. I would think the future is very bright.

Who was gaurding Fredette when he went on a 12 - 0 run by himself? I have yet to read an article that says who was assigned to gaurd him? Maybe he wasn't.

Go Cougars

Farmington, UT

I wonder why Jimmer was frustrated toward the end of the game. Could it be that he was fouled hard three times in a row, and the referee pretended not to look?

At least the ref had a solution. And it was brilliant.

Ask the coach to bench Jimmer.

I wondered what Rose was telling Jimmer after the game. I think it was something along the lines of, "Don't say anything about the officials. Not even, 'The Utes played me very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very physical toward the end of the game.' Just go shower and head home and say nothing. I'll handle the post-game interviews. You go take a week off, and we'll see if you can light the world on fire after that."

Draper, UT

Who are these people supporting Boylen? Have they been watching the same team lose all season? Remember, this is the team that lost to San Diego [not San Diego State - but them too], lost to Portland, lost to Air Force at HOME, lost to their bitter rival by about a hundred at HOME, and now the team that lost to their rival again. There is a common thread there - LOSER. Boylen has to go - Utah will get killed next year in the PAC-12 without a change. Let me help Jim with some excuses - let's see - we're young, we have an injury, we were on the road, the ball didn't go in the hoop, we can't shoot simple free throws, we have more turnovers than anyone in the nation, we have seven footers that can't rebound, I had a hang nail, and on and on. The wrong coaches in Utah are resigning - Jerry resigns and Jim stays. Sad. Where's Coach Bugs Bunny when you need him?
