I meant to say honesty and integrity in my earlier comment about Omar Binladin!
I'm moving too fast this morning! Thank you! Jean Sasson, Atlanta, GA.
Cathy has written a very thoughtful review. I am pleased that she discovered
the value of the lives lived by Omar and his mother, Najwa. Both are as she
says, two innocent people who wanted to live normal lives. There is only one
misunderstanding: Omar contacted me directly via email and I called the
telephone number provided in the email. He did not contact my publisher, St.
Martin's, although they did talk a number of times after I started writing the
book. Omar also spoke with my literary agent as there was the very serious
discussion of whether or not I would write Omar's story. I am so glad that it
worked out as I have a very firm friendship with Omar and have found him to be
one of the nicest people I've ever known. So much for judging a man by the
actions of his father! Look the world over and it would be hard to beat the
honestly and intergrity I found in Omar Binladin. Thanks again for a very
intelligent review of what I believe is a very important story. No other
Binladin family members have ever spoken out.
