Enough of the Morgan articles....just cuz" they get submittedOne or two a season is plenty. We don't need their whole season.
Question:Can you completely tear your ACL and play after a few short
weeks of rehab?A TON of professional athletes would like this
actually you can play on a torn ACL. It can be painful. Before ACL surgeries
were a norm, I am willing to bet people lived with torn ligaments all the time.
The problem with most profession athletes is that that are "worth so much
money" that many of them are put in boots or on the IR for normal sprains
that can be played on. re" Just Me I seem to recall you not having a
problem with the Grand article a few weeks ago. I think your repley was and I
quote Let's see ......Sour grapes about a story where Grand
beats San JuanANDYou're from Blanding!!!Makes Sense!!! Well sour grapes about a story where Morgan wins.
You must not like Morgan at all. I remeber after the preview we had a similar
discussion. So using your logic. Sour grapes from a person that does not like
Morgan. Best of luck to all 3A teams. Should be a great last couple of
weeks of the basketball season.
Not sour grapes...I actually like the MOrgan team. I just think there are MORE
than just Morgan games happening every night. The guy who writes them is an
excellent writer so they print everything he submits (or appears that way). It
the same with the boys team. If you are a coach, then you know that this is ONE
way to get your players names out there so when all-state ballots are cast. It
just seems like we get an inordinate amount of Morgan articles and putting the
name out there is important. As far as the "making sense",
the posting said "Blanding , Utah". It wasn't the comment that drew
my sarcasm. It was the fact that San Juan played Grand and a person from
Blanding was commenting they were tired of the story. That's all.
Yes, it is possible to play on a knee that has no ACL. Becca's orthopedic
surgeon gave her the ok to play--she had to sit out through mid December into
mid January, then slowly began to practice, go through warm ups, and then play.
Obviously, you must wear the brace that keeps the knee stable, and tolerate some
pain. It's strange to think that it is even possible to play without that
ligament being intact, but it happens. Same thing happened two years ago to a
Morgan girls soccer player her jr year, played her senior soccer and bball
season, had the surgery directly following bball, couldn't do track though.
funny that was the point from the person here in Blanding. There were other
games that had happened and that article about a great game was still up. That
is the beauty of the des news. That have asked local writers to help cover local
sports. I do understand that getting names in the paper can help with getting
votes for all state ballots. I also know that many of those ballots are based on
the state tournament, when they should also be based on regular season.I
am glad you say you like Morgan now. Seems like when Delta beat Morgan you were
pretty anti Morgan. Glad you have seen that they are a tough team. You do seem
to have a pretty good grip on high school girls basketball. I also commend you
for that. Any predictions for 1A, 2A and 3A tournaments?
We are just taliking about GIRL'S basketball.....
Why are you being so mean Just Me? Is it really that big of a deal?
Not sure about 1A...2A: Beaver3A: MorganI was
frustrated with Morgan after the Delta game......I thought they were better than
they showed and ONE of my favorite teams is WHOMEVER's playing Delta (JK!!!).
I was also frustrated that last year Morgan lost to Juab in the first round. I
know the Garfield girl was hurt BUT they had 2 or 3 other All-State players (see
previous comments) including the Top defensive player and couldn't stop the
fourth place region 12 team?? That was curious.baldcoach.......NOW
I know why YOU have such a "good grip" on girls basketball!!!!
I wish I still played girls basketball. Those were the good ole days. I enjoyed
hitting those 4 pointers and hearing the crowd go wild.
Just Me...Morgan is a good team and they are lucky to have someone who spends
time to write articles about their teams. Maybe you could begin writing articles
for your local teams. They would post them if they are good articles. If you
don't like reading all about Morgan, then, well don't.
Great comment pegleg. The amazing thing DNews has done is open the door for
people across the state to write articles for their schools. If you are willing
you can get all your school's events in the DNews. Click on the button about to
"Help Us Cover Preps" and start writing about your high school.
Becca tore her ACL I thought... just more attention!
re Just MeMakes sense. interesting picks . Morgan has got to be a
favorite. I will say Juab seems to be coming on. Delta will be dangerous. I would say 2A Enterprise has to be the favorite, but Beaver is right there.
There might be some dark horses though.
I think the 3A tourney will be great. There are a number of teams that could
win it this year, it is pretty deep! I think a lot of times it comes down to
match ups and who gets on a roll at the right time.
RE: baldcoach - "Dark horses" like the broncos in 2A!!! : )
(I"m serious!!!)RE: hugegirlsfan - AMEN!!!
Just me- That 4th place team from region 12 last year ended up making a nice and
respectable showing in tournament by beating a tough Carbon team and loosing a
close one to a great Union team. I think Region 12 teams (top four), Morgon,
Carbon, Union, Canyon View, and Cedar could all make things interesting. The
play-in game will be fun to watch and track.
Morgan is a great team! I hope they take state!
