In the process of running for re-election, mailing his constituents, walking the district, he never realized he didn't live in his district? Hard to believe.
Regardless, it smacks of cronyism to redraw the boundaries just to protect this one legislator who, to a significant extent because of his own negligence, failed to comply with the law.
Will the Democrats roll over for this?

Will they have a choice? With vast minority in both houses, Governor's office, etc. there won't even be a question as to the legality of redrawing the district.
You are correct, this whole situation could have been prevented pretty easily.
