These people have suffered so many weather and nature related events in the last few years. I imagine many are wondering where God is and if he is truly aware of their hurt. I am wondering myself.

from Spanish Fork

Thank you, Bro Anderson and Garrett, for taking the time to help. I hope the Haitians are able to remember what they have been taught when the emotions hit. You 2 are precious souls for caring about the mental health of those still there.

Paul

It says "when life throws you a lemon make a lemonade". I believe God will see them through their hardship.

Thanks

Thanks for helping.

And when you're not in Haiti anymore, maybe could you write a Church Magazine article(maybe several, Ensign and Liahona--a teen version for the New Era and one children could understand for The Friend)??

Anyone in any heartbreaking, traumatizing time (not just the earthquake)could really use help understanding about these powerful emotions (mentioned in this article) and how to manage them in the context of the Gospel.

I know many suffering extreme situations feel so guilty for not being able to "have more faith" or not "seeming to be good enough to get the Heavenly help they need" or are depressed because they need help and comfort from the Spirit and can't seem to feel anything--and very importantly, how to manage their extreme anger at God for whatever calamity they are in--and not wanting to be angry at God, and feeling guilty for being angry at Him-yet still being just furious--and finding no way to reconcile all these potentially testimony-damaging emotions and feelings.

Thanks.

I called the state of Arizona to see if LDS Humanitarian Services are registered in the state. They said it is not registered and should not be soliciting in the state without registering. Could someone please tell me why you don't register if this is the law.

TRI

I believe the difficulty you encountered in checking the registration of the Church's charity was due to using the incorrect name. I'm not an authority on the subject, but I believe the correct name is:
LDS Philanthropies: Humanitarian Services.

No LDS Charity of any kind was registered. I was surprised we don't register as that is the way the state keeps fraudulent organizations out.

Caring

All you have to do is donate on your church donation slip to the humanitarian fund. It will get there and help many.
