I know this is a trivial comment, but man do these guys ever look alike! They both have the Republican look - square jaw, trim, full head of hear, mouth full of teeth and smiling, smooth and domineering. Is there some sort of common DNA being shared?
A little bit of pocket change can sway the masses
Dollars over Democracy.....Just love those lobbyists
Rather disgusting!
Romney would bring some fiscal discipline to Washington. I hope he gets elected.
Really? I disagree. Romneycare not too popular in MA (only 1/3 approve and like the program). Also, much more expensive than originally planned. Plus, Obamacare and Romneycare are very, very similar.
So, Romney has lost all credibility with healthcare reform as his own program is a failure.
Mitt is doing all the right things. He's making all the right moves. He is also the best qualified guy out there to get us out of the mess the Dems have gotten us into.
I love Sarah, but she's really not the most qualified person to be president. Mitt is. Go Mitt!
Lew
When I looked at the photo, I thought this is the first time I thought Mitt looks like his father, George. Just cover the part of his hair that he colors and it's a spittin' image.
Must we always have to hear about Mitt Romney in the Deseret News? He is not our Savior.
Go Mitt Romney!
Too bad you didn't win last year. Your whole life has been spent saving companies, campaigns, organizations, etc., from failure and making them profitable. So sad America would not look at your abilities more closely instead of other trivial factors.
When the Senators and past Presidents need some financial advice, they ask the economists. Well, guess what, Mitt IS an economist. And a brilliant one at that.
Good luck. Stay true to who you are and show people your talents and you will have success.
Equally as trivial, notice that the picture shows Mitt has crowns (or veneers) on his front teeth only. He did not place any on his posterior teeth. Is that watch a Casio?
I am curious to know how the government stimulus would have been different under Romney. It would have been interesting to have had someone with Wall Street experience leading the process.
Lew, the "Republican look"? Are you kidding me? Other than his beefcake pose for a magazine when he was in his 20s, what do we know about this guy. He was good looking and little history, running against the cold fish candidate who didn't take it seriously. This ranks up there with Ted Wilson's loss to norm Bangerter. Sjhould never have happened. But don't overplay Romney's role and influence. Utahns should not get too giddy yet.
You can't be serious. Romney was the only big name Republican who DIDN'T show up to campaign for Brown. Dropping by the victory celebration and claiming he should get the credit for this is really tawdry.
To Grandmother, if you are upset for hearing about Mitt Romney I would suggest that you stop reading the Deseret news and change to the Tribune.
Nobody has titled Mitt as the Savior, how rediculous can you be. BUT anybody with a sound mind and a sense of right and wrong would admit that his backround gives him the creditionals to make a difference in the corrupt political machine in Washington.
As for me I am happy that we still have upright moral standing individuals to choos from.
Smile and be happy!
Mitts father George was one of the best Governors Michigan ever had. The Auto industry was booming in those days all owned by private industry much different than today. To bad Mitt didn’t make it last time The Country would have been much different than it is today. Close to 500 thousand losing there jobs again last month will it ever end with the people we now have in Washington. We had around 6% unemployment until that other group of Congressmen took over Washington the last two years of Bush's reign.
@Waldo. Everything you stated is wrong or incorrectly spun. One reason Scott Brown won is because he would vote to reject ObamaCare--Mass residents already have a system they prefer.
More expensive? Maybe, but not by a lot--and mostly due to additions the Dems added that Romney didn't want in there.
Similar to ObamaCare? Not at all. Very different in fact in fundamental ways.
In MA when Romney was governor he passed the legislation on health care that the legislators approved, nothing more and nothing less as I see it. He did not have carte blanche to pass his own agenda.
Cats: "I love Sarah, but she's really not the most qualified person to be president."
I have never heard a Palin supporter say this before.
Its incredibly obvious to most people but not avid far-right Republicans.
Is the light, perhaps, beginning to dawn??
Mitt Romney raised the capital gains tax, banned assault weapons, legislated a co-pay for an elective abortion, and funded the govenor's coalition for gay youth.
Bottem line" REPUBLICAN does not equal CONSERVATIVE. Mitt Romney is a liberal, just like his father. Remember, it was George Romney who walked out on Barry Goldwater's convention speech.
"Must we always have to hear about Mitt Romney in the Deseret News? He is not our Savior."
Is the purpose and mandate of the Deseret News to only write about the Savior?
Mitt signed into law the health care bill that didn't work? That's leadership?
