What a great thing they are doing. Keep up the good work!

What KIND of nonprofit is this?

Is this nonprofit a true charity, or is it a company created to provide jobs for its owners?

Legally, when you solicit "donations", you are supposed to tell us whether you are soliciting true charitable (tax-deductible) donations under Section 501(c)(3).

Clean up your act, porn-fighters. Otherwise, you're just as immoral as the people you're pretending to fight.

Wow...

I can't wait to see what the other side is going to say about this. Some people out there still think that it is a choice to view and enjoy pornography and doesn't not have any long term harmful affect on the conscious and sub conscious mind.

A pandora's box has just been opened and the contents stirred. I for one believe that it is a problem and a waste of time and life and precious resources to view pornography.

This thing called a "new drug", is anything but new. It is just more accessible these days. It's not new, just in wider circulation. Shame on us, as a society, for letting it become more accessible to our children, and the level of acceptance it has reached in so-called "art".

Keep up the good fight! There's plenty of evidence that porn is addictive as heroin. I hope those who are addicted will get professional help fast.

For other LDS readers, there is a great book out called "He Restoreth My Soul." It is very effective in teaching people how to break the addiction using a twelve step program and the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

FIGHT THE NEW DRUG is a 501 (c)3, tax exempt, non-profit organization.

I think it is amazing that this is a campaign launched by young men. How refreshing to know that there are still many honorable men--fighting the influence of mainstream society to degrade and objectify women.

Porno

may be addictive but its much more fun that watching 97% of the garbage on Tee Vee.Its legal, and the moral police need to get a life and not interfere with others choices as dumb and useless as they may well be .

I Wonder Why....................

Why is it that it seems that only Utah is having a real struggle with pornography? The other 49 states seem to be just fine with it and show no unusual problems.

Get serious!

If it's a drug then why is this drug available in Marriot hotels>

It'll be interesting to see what "facts" they come up with. They've done repeated studies on the correlation between pornographers and rapists, child molesters, any kind of sexual crime and there is never any correlation.

Whereas I agree it is degrading to women and turns them into objects, and it can create a false reality and make men dissatisfied with the appearance of their wives, it's been shown that it doesn't turn men into rapists and molesters. I'd post links but they don't let me but Google has a plethura of examples.

I'm against pornography but I don't want this to turn into another marijuana scare where they think that it'll turn you into some kind of a demon if you do it. If you're going to distribute facts make sure they're accurate and non-biased.

@Iwonder...I wonder where people like you come up with "only Utah is having a real struggle with it".
Pornography is a worldwide problem.
It is destructive to marriages-worldwide and to families-worldwide.
These young men, from Utah, recognize the dangers and are doing something about it.
Those who say it doesn't hurt anyone are either immersed in pornography themselves or heavily invest in porn and want to make a profit at your expense.

Utah is not the only state struggling with pornography. Seems to me that Utah is the only state concerned about pornography.

My son is an FBI agent and investigates child pornography cases. He says that over 50% of internet activity is related to pornography. As for child pornography, most of these websites are located in Eastern Europe and it is very difficult to shut them down due to the limited resources of law enforcement in that region. I'm a liberal leaning person, but this is one so called freedom that is a farce and is a scourge to our society. Our free society could get along much better without it. It is demeaning and very degrading.

Mother against porn

The "moral police" care about their children. They don't want their children looking at smut.

Utah not the only state

Pornography is getting to be a problem everywhere. Those unaware of its impact elsewhere need to become educated. The information is out there if you look for it.

Degrading

Pornography is degrading for all of those involved. It destroys marriages and when used in an addicition makes it almost impossible to think of other things. One of the main difficulties with pornography is that even if the images or words aren't being read, the mind can bring them up and you can picture them. A virtual libray of pornography. I know of jobs that have been lost and destroyed because of this plague, and it is rampant in every church and area of society. Heaven help us all.

It could be a problem...

Like anything, porn could be a problem. So can video games, working too much, gambling, excessive exercise, watching TV, alcohol, coffee, and endless other things. If you don't want porn, don't watch it. If you want to keep it away from your kids, do your parenting job. We don't need more legislation in our country. Laws are not the answer to personal choice activites. If a real crime like neglect happens because of any activity or habit, then you have a crime. Until then, you have a personal choice. Stay out of peoples personal choices.

Pornorgraphy the new drug? Nothing like running the flock once more around the pen to keep 'em frothed up. So now that you figure there's porn around every corner, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to start pushing to curtail first ammendment rights (if so, let's talk second ammendment)? How else to deal with it? I dont' know, but my rights aren't up for grabs to assuage your sensitivities.

It's about education.

Fight The New Drug isn't about legislation. It's about educating people that it can be harmful. Why is this important? Because a lot of people don't accept that it could have negative consequences or get caught up in it before they know what the consequence are.

I think their platform of educating people on the possible harmful effects through what facts are available and then letting people make their own choices is brilliant! It could save those who stand to be negatively effected by viewing it if their educated correctly.

If they get it right I don't see how this campaign could be anything but positive.
