I would HATE to lay there bleeding for a week, without water, food, a home, shelter, no med's, no antibiotics, no where to clean up ay and looter's and riots everywhere, before the LDS Church's medical team finally reached its destination (the only airport there) Tuesday morning for the crushed earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Port-au-Prince, Haiti is not the ONLY place where help is needed there. That's my view.

My Brother is with that team and this is the only communication we have. Thanks so much for the report. I know they are very anxious to get to work.

Thanks Des News for the update. I've been wondering if the medical team made it in country. They are now delivering the badly needed aid. What an experience for these volunteers. God Speed!

My dad is Dr. MacArthur, part of the medical crew there. I pray for him and his crew every day that they will be able to serve the people there and help saves lives. We are so proud of his willingness to go help the people there. Thanks Dad! I love you. Be safe.

Mark, you missed a good talk Sunday but I'll forgive you. You are where you need to be. Sprint to the finish. Lorin Davis

Now ok?

Now is it ok for the LDS church to meddle in other people's affairs bent-out-of-shape liberals?

Cats

If the members of the team are reading these blogs...God bless you and your efforts. Also, God bless all the missionaries, members and all others who are caught in the middle of this crisis. We are praying for all of you.

About say God Bless and protect everyone who is helping the people of Haiti. Yes, they are angels. This is not the time to try to earn brownies points for "good works". If you watch the news, there is a long list including Cuba. Can you believe it? The people right now don't care about any religion, they just need help.

Brother Chuck, I don't know which news you are watching. The UN and Samaritan's Purse had been there since last Wednesday. You are right, Haiti is not the only place that needs help; Doctors Without Borders, Samaritan's Purse among others are all over the world 365 days in a year. Do check their website; you will find a list of countries where they are working as you are reading this.

My sincer thanks and gratitude to everyone who are able to be there.

May God bless them all,

Haitian (I am from Haiti)

Adoption

Yesterday I went through a serious pursuit to see if my family could help by adopting one of more of the orphans made so by the earthquake. I was asked about my income, family size, occupation, area I lived, and my religious background. I told them I was LDS and the response was "Haiti does not adopt to Mormons."

nyc

does anyone have a list of all the doctors there. i am curious.

My son

is with U.S. Air Force Special Forces. His job is to help get the needed supplies and material into trouble spots--his guys went in and secured the airport and got it up and running again. Of course, the government of Haiti objected! But the aid people can now get in and supplies are arriving. The people there are telling people in my son's squadron that they are much afraid that the supplies will end up on the black market and never get to the people--but the relief efforts of individuals and private groups will get where they are needed.

Thank God for our U.S. military who put their lives on the line every day--all over the world. And thank God for all the wonderful people world-wide who are doing what they can to help the people of Haiti who are suffering so much.

So Cal Reader

Excellent update, especially on the LDS members in the area. However, please note that this medical team is rendering aid to members and non-members alike camping out at the various church buildings. May all of the volunteer team be safe and free from harms way as they render compassionate aid and assistance!

Lili

Chris, I don't know if you will have access to this but, if so, we're all praying for you, the rest of the team, and all those in Haiti. Come home safely. We love you.
