Best State and Federal governments that money can buy. It is great to have politicians that care for the needs of the simple folk. You know the ones that have great health coverage and pay and benefits. The ones who can't wait to become lobbyists for the big corporations so they can really help the people.
Campaign limits don't work. Just look at Congress for an example. Their limits haven't slowed the flow of money and influence.
How do you think Energy Solutions gets their stuff done. Bribery gets you everywhere. Senator Bennet is the best example of selling out Utah. Look at how many people
Energy Solutions "donated" money (including the attorney general). Business as usual in Utah.
I love how terms like "Bribery" are thrown around so loosely by people. Aren't libel laws enforced?
If you don't like what Energy Solutions does, elect people who will stop it. It seems pretty clear to me. But it seems like a much greater wrong to accuse innocent people of serious crimes.
I have been asking where the hell I can sign a petition and no one ever say's where. WHERE? WHERE? WHERE?
@cbird - Maybe its time to pull up the sleeves and draw that petition up ourselves. Akin to letting the fox guard the hen-house, the Legislature have made it painfully clear that they are either unwilling or incapable of enacting real change and that genuine ethics reform will only occur when it is forced upon them by the citizens through the initiative process. I'd be more than happy to throw my time and resources behind this effort.
