The guy needs help, he's almost certainly addicted to the stuff he's doing. I recognize it from a 12 step session I attended for a psych class... it's the addiction pattern, regardless of the type of acting out.
I don't care about Tiger Wood's personal life. Why do you?
stop beating up on tiger,,
I loved a sex addict and was involved with him for many years before I found out about his activities. I cried a million tears and said to him, " How could you do this to me when I gave you everything?" His response was, "Baby, it had nothing to do with my heart." My response, But baby, it had everything to do with mine."
My heart breakes for Elin Woods. If she can stay with her husband and be happy and have a good life I say more power to you. I couldn't stay. I tried but everytime he touched me I thought he did the same things to other women. I loved him but sometimes love just isn't enough.
I attend a weekly 12-step recovery program here in SLC and Tiger has all the classic signs of addiction. If he doesn't seek treatment and help now he will find his life slipping slowly away into a pit of nothing. That's what addiction does.. it promises a great time but it never pays off. The addict is always seeking another thrill and he never finds it. He'll sacrifice his life for it.. in vain.
Tiger needs to get help for his addiction.
i read today that Tiger had indeed checked into one of the best rehabs for this problem, located in Hattisburg, miss. I wish him the best and a full recovery.
so far tigar is the greatest gofer i know i will not be watching any more golf until he return i am a senior citizen woman take that.
thanks Norris for writing a first class article.
I have been married for a few years to a man with this same addiction. I was so hurt when I found out his secret last year, but after two kids with him I couldn't just give up. He's been so hard working and seemingly flawless in all other regards. I didn't know of most of these helps are out there and we have been trying to work it out between just the two of us. It has been so hard and some nights I just have to tell him to get away from me for the night. I either sleep on the couch or he does. It is kind of liberating to know there is help for this kind of thing.
Sorry for Tiger but for the good of his children, his wife did the right thing by taking the kids and moving out. Don't even think about reconciling. Leave him permanently. She can do much better and not have to worry about getting an STD.
Elin Woods is to be commended as a mother and a wife. How could Tiger do this to her and his two precious children. Elin, who is intelligent and absolutely drop dead gorgeous, derserves to have a husband with similar values and who is committed to family. In my lifetime, I have never heard of anyone with poorer charcter than Tiger Woods. I can't blame him for not showing his fact after bedding all of those sluts!
Give it a break, Tigar has money and with that comes power. He is in control and no more a sex addict than a drunk. Find something else to write about. This is all for the media period.
If Tiger wants to be in a monogamous relationship obviously he needs to make some behavior modifications. If he prefers a single lifestyle I would say he doesn't need to change much.
Tiger must also free himself of the friends who helped him with setting him up and not snitching on him to his wife. Those dudes needs to come clean as well. Elin needs to take as much money as she needs to ensure those kids of theirs are taken care of. Elin needs to date a RM asap. tiger needs the priesthood.
I think he knew what he was doing all the while I think he does need help. He should think of his wife more and have his sex with her if he is a addict.
How can one get too much of a good thing, we all should be so lucky.
I'm in a 12 step program myself and sex addiction is a very secreative addiction unilike, drugs and alcohol. There is a alot of shame and guilt that the individual carries with them. It's a compulsive behavior. I wish Tiger all the best in his recovery. The first step is admitting that you are powerless over this disease.
It's too bad Tiger's reputation has become so tarnished. He was such a terrific roll model for so many. I seldom watch sports at all, but I almost always watched Tiger....may again when he gets back to playing but too bad he's hurt so many..esp those closest to him. Why is it that some famous people with seemingly everything going for them go so astray?? Only Tiger knows for sure....Good luck Tiger! I hope you can one day regain all that you have lost.
i think we men should stop being hippocrates and tell the world what it already knows,-that its much more difficult for men to resist sexual temptation because of the hormones that drive our sexual desires,& that we are very different from women.some men are stronger than others in resisting temptation,& i am,admittedly, one of those who's able to do so,but i cant deny the fact that its very hard not to give in to it.and its even harder to resist when your wife just wont understand that a man's sexual needs are different.i love my wife very much& i do respect her feelings.thats why i try my very best to resist temptations as hard as i can,for as long as i can.what im trying to say is,we really dont know what transpired between tiger & his wife during the times that he had relations w/ other women.to me its simply a case of a normal male thats chosen to give in to what all of us males experience everyday..& its not our place to blame or judge him or his wife for whatever happened next
